I was at this match--thank God Sorana finished her off in two! I will have some notes later, but man, don't let anyone tell you the Taco isn't the loudest and most cunning screamer on tour.

Bottom line:

a couple of tantrums, a thrown racquet, a few argued line calls, several violent, head-twisting "Come on!"s and lots and lots of noise.

The sad part is she outplayed Sorana from the baseline but still can't serve worth a damn in crucial spots.

But hooray for Sori!

This. Cirstea has nothing in her game to trouble any top players on hardcourts.

I'm glad to see MLDB lose yet another match. She is screwed after RG and Wimbledon points come off.

Some of you really need to stop using words like "choke" if you don't know what really happened.

The last part of this match had some awesome rallies and breathtaking points that had the crowd ooo-ing and ahhhh-ing. I mean 20-25 shot rallies where both players were painting the lines with deep, penetrating groundstrokes. I don't care much for MLDB but I give her credit for digging deep and fighting to the end. As I said above, she really outplayed Sorana from the baseline in this match, but her serve let her down serving for the second set. In the TB, she hit some beautiful winners and outlasted Sorana in many of those long rallies. A couple of innopportune errors did her in. She was loud, and obnoxious, but she has game.

As for Sorana, she has a really nice serve, but today she was errorprone on the forehand. Hit some wonderful defensive backhands, tho. If she gets the forehand under control, she stands a chance against Williams.

So basically Michelle hasn't changed.
