great win!!! asagoe-miyagi have the potential to be one of the top 10 teams. they beat dementieva-husarova at wimbledon but then wasted a great opportunity in the second round when they lost after wasting a few matchpoints.

always good to win the home tournament especially after the disappointing results in singles

Another one of those matches that, from the score, it looks like it would've been fun to be at to watch in person (same exact score as the JillC/TamTan singles match!) -- only one game in each set separating the teams.

miyagi is half swedish and half japanese... born in seattle...and i think, came from okinawa... she mainly speaks english...
her first coach just passed away...so she was crying on the speech!!

Nana has been around so long, I'm glad shes still winning titles... I think shes one of those players who was always good enough to win a singles title but never did, even though she was in at least one final... I like how shes two hands off both sides too...
