Kleyba Is very tired from playing since the Fed Cup and I am sure the last two matches took a lot out of her.

So Kleybanova likes blowing leads to Jankovic. We've confirmed that. It's Jankovic turn to pounce on the rolling ball of yarn that slipped from under the other pile of cats while they were distracted.

The ballbows screwed Alisa's momentum. They sucked.

Klaybanova was not accurate today with her shots. She lead 4-2 in the 2nd set and lead 40-15 in game 7 when the CAR CRASH happened.

What a criminal match.

Alisa's serve does tend to blow hot and cold. Some of those DFs were - :help: JJ also tended to hit behind her in that second set which forced her to have to run back a little to hit the shot. Interesting to see. That said, I still liked what I was seeing from her in the main, and liked the way that she didn't get tight and stop going for her shots. She wasn't afraid to be the aggressor in that final game.

Also looks like Jankovic might be regaining some confidence and form again? It will be good for her and the tour. (But I can't help but wonder how affable I'll remain towards Lady Jaja once she finally gets her act together and starts troubling my fav again? :lol:)

the match was pathetic! I turned the tv off @ 5-4 for JJ in the first. Waste of time to watch it :(

What can I say about Jankovic ? Let's see... Jankovic is like a Dr. Jeckal, Mr Hyde ! Jankovic is like a box of chocolates, "You never know what your going to get". Kinda reminds me of Dinara Safina. Here's a woman tennis player who is fit, athletic, adequately powerful, attractive, and who could challenge for number #1, if it weren't for her up and down performances. She's still in her prime, but yet it seems like she doesn't know if she's rare, medium, or well done ! I'm waiting Jelena...

I think the key was JJ started off really well and Alisa lost confidence, she could not cope with the heat and seemed slow, maybe with an injury. JJ just had to keep the pressure on and play the big points well. Alisa never looked likely to win this match.

Alisa never really improved in the 2nd and JJ's level never reached the heights of the first four games. Then at 4-2 Alisa's level dropped to a pathetically low level. Just horrendous tennis from that point on. Gifted JJ the match.

Lovely result. The quality of tennis was woeful though. The only good thing about Jelena's game was her serve. That, and she could have made more errors but thankfully didn't.

It was about time that JJ gets off-form Alisa... I mean, Alisa was at top in all 3 encounters before this one. But I guess 8 hours she spent on the court before this QF has taken its toll on her. Lot of mistakes, but JJ was focused and managed to turn it over in 2nd set.

Btw, 4 breaks in JJ - Kleys match... wtf?!

If you like errors just beside the lines, it was a good match.

Well I got to see what Alisa's biggest problem is. She overexerts herself; she throws everything into each shot. This was the first time I got to watch her play. She goes for too much when it isn't necessary. She wore herself out more than Jankovic beat her, at least that was the lasting impression on me from this match.

Kleybanova was obviously injured and exhausted.

I wouldn't call it a choke, but The Killer Whale certainly fell apart for no apparent reason when she was blowing Jankovic clean off the court halfway through the 2nd set.

Replay of the latter stages of the AO match vs Henin for The Killer Whale in the sense that there wasn't an important point that she didn't thrown away with a needless error. Her shotmaking was undeniably impressive on occasion, but just too many crass errors throughout.

Perhaps because she has lost to her twice in the past, Jankovic quickly learned how to play against The Killer Whale - she turned their Fed Cup match around by hitting the ball deep right to the corners over and over again and keeping The Killer Whale on the move. But yesterday she was quite subpar, being unable to keep the ball deep with any kind of consistency and making way more gratuitous errors than a player with her characteristics can afford to do; fortunately for her, she didn't even need to use any specific plan other than waiting for The Killer Whale to do crass errors on every single decisive point. Just about any shot hit deep into The Killer Whale's BH corner drew an error out of her.

If Jankovic was playing better, even if far from her top form, she'd win IW easily. But after watching this I'm not so sure.

I think she got tired. Thats the how the match Alisa lost to Sharapova last summer looked. Alisa was serving up a break and double faulted the game away. Then she tried to end every point too quickly.
