Jankovic makes pottery out of Kleybanova 64 64Morning Morgan Mar 18th, 2010, 08:54 PM 4 games in a row in the 2nd :O Xepher Mar 18th, 2010, 08:55 PM First semi in AGES Potato Mar 18th, 2010, 08:55 PM down 4-2 and a break i believe :hearts: Keadz Mar 18th, 2010, 08:55 PM Lets never speak of this match EVER again. That poor crowd. goldenlox Mar 18th, 2010, 08:55 PM I thought Alisa was going up 52 in the 2nd but she ran out of gas. Alisa has to get fitter. CrossCourt~Rally Mar 18th, 2010, 08:55 PM Keep going JJ! :woohoo: Alisa , still a nice run this week :) young_gunner913 Mar 18th, 2010, 08:56 PM Alisa  Rest up. Well Jaja, it's your turn to save the WTA. Belmont Lad Mar 18th, 2010, 08:56 PM JJ, another straight set win? I like this indeed! :cheer: Rafito. Mar 18th, 2010, 08:56 PM :woohoo: Make the final JJ. *Jean* Mar 18th, 2010, 08:56 PM Jelena :) Alisa   ce Mar 18th, 2010, 08:56 PM :rolls: Mikey. Mar 18th, 2010, 08:56 PM Thank god! :hysteric: That was one of the worst matches I've ever seen. Good luck in the next round JJ. :yeah: Steff_forever Mar 18th, 2010, 08:57 PM thanks JJ, sweet revenge, well played !!!! :worship: Alisa looked so steamless today jefrilibra Mar 18th, 2010, 08:57 PM Was the match really that bad? VIKA-GOAT Mar 18th, 2010, 08:57 PM :woohoo: Slutati Mar 18th, 2010, 08:58 PM I for one am shocked. :speakles: Get it JJ. Win the title. Or lose to Lady Aga in the final whatever. Xepher Mar 18th, 2010, 08:58 PM worst match i've seen in 2010 ZODIAC Mar 18th, 2010, 08:58 PM Kleyba Is very tired from playing since the Fed Cup and I am sure the last two matches took a lot out of her. A young player will win IW.. Cosantoir Mar 18th, 2010, 08:58 PM So Kleybanova likes blowing leads to Jankovic. We've confirmed that. It's Jankovic turn to pounce on the rolling ball of yarn that slipped from under the other pile of cats while they were distracted. Wiggly Mar 18th, 2010, 08:58 PM The ballbows screwed Alisa's momentum. They sucked. is1531 Mar 18th, 2010, 08:58 PM Klaybanova was not accurate today with her shots. She lead 4-2 in the 2nd set and lead 40-15 in game 7 when the CAR CRASH happened. Princeza Mar 18th, 2010, 08:59 PM What a criminal match. Steff_forever Mar 18th, 2010, 08:59 PM Was the match really that bad? for haters, yes ;) Kampi Mar 18th, 2010, 08:59 PM God, what a pain to watch....but the best thing is that our girl won this mess, hehe.:tape::help::lol: GO JJ:bounce: -NAJ- Mar 18th, 2010, 08:59 PM :bigclap::bigclap::bigclap: SF - Just great:hearts::hearts: homogenius Mar 18th, 2010, 08:59 PM Solid and smart match from Jelena. Good serve stats (broken only once)and she put pressure on Alisa second serve. Alisa was probably a bit tired but she should be very satisfied with her run here. Hope JJ'll win the damn thing now Vaidisova Mar 18th, 2010, 09:00 PM Great job Jelena Bobisa Mar 18th, 2010, 09:00 PM :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Keadz Mar 18th, 2010, 09:00 PM for haters, yes ;) You though this was a good match? (besides the result) allrounder Mar 18th, 2010, 09:00 PM Well done JJ, still a shadow of her old self but she got it done in the end :) Kleybs looked a bit tired but she had a good tourney :yeah: Hashim. Mar 18th, 2010, 09:00 PM JJ:hearts: Alisa:sad::hug: is1531 Mar 18th, 2010, 09:02 PM If Jankovic wins the title, I am sure she will say something that will make most us laugh duirng the celebration. SHAKE EM UP JANKO. Midnight_Robber Mar 18th, 2010, 09:03 PM Alisa's serve does tend to blow hot and cold. Some of those DFs were - :help: JJ also tended to hit behind her in that second set which forced her to have to run back a little to hit the shot. Interesting to see. That said, I still liked what I was seeing from her in the main, and liked the way that she didn't get tight and stop going for her shots. She wasn't afraid to be the aggressor in that final game. Also looks like Jankovic might be regaining some confidence and form again? It will be good for her and the tour. (But I can't help but wonder how affable I'll remain towards Lady Jaja once she finally gets her act together and starts troubling my fav again?) markhingis Mar 18th, 2010, 09:05 PM the match was pathetic! I turned the tv off @ 5-4 for JJ in the first. Waste of time to watch it :( Brena Mar 18th, 2010, 09:06 PM http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/3259/navijacka2.jpg (http://img96.imageshack.us/i/navijacka2.jpg/) Alisa was terrible. But it's only fair that she gives JJ a break for once - she always plays like a GOAT against her. JJGOAT in the SF! :faints again: Potato Mar 18th, 2010, 09:06 PM Jaja is winning too much :help: Something is wrong. :scared: If she magically makes it to the final, she has to play the pushers which she both has a perfect record against. :help: Elwin. Mar 18th, 2010, 09:07 PM Jelena :D BluSthil Mar 18th, 2010, 09:07 PM What can I say about Jankovic ? Let's see... Jankovic is like a Dr. Jeckal, Mr Hyde ! Jankovic is like a box of chocolates, "You never know what your going to get". Kinda reminds me of Dinara Safina. (Jankovic)Sometimes she's brillant, other times she's quite average. Here's a woman tennis player who is fit, athletic, adequately powerful, attractive, and who could challenge for number #1, if it weren't for her up and down performances. She's still in her prime, but yet it seems like she doesn't know if she's rare, medium, or well done ! I'm waiting Jelena... olivero Mar 18th, 2010, 09:08 PM Awful match, both played like lunatics  Alisa was even moonballing at times :tape: But I'm so glad Jeca got a straight set win! Now win the semis too youizahoe Mar 18th, 2010, 09:09 PM Janka talibanka :hearts: @danieln1 Mar 18th, 2010, 09:09 PM Lets never speak of this match EVER again. That poor crowd. This. I literally fell aspleep during the second set, then when I woke up, the match was gone Xepher Mar 18th, 2010, 09:10 PM Now I want her to WIN it all ChriS. Mar 18th, 2010, 09:10 PM I think the key was JJ started off really well and Alisa lost confidence, she could not cope with the heat and seemed slow, maybe with an injury. JJ just had to keep the pressure on and play the big points well. Alisa never looked likely to win this match. ~Cherry*Blossom~ Mar 18th, 2010, 09:11 PM Wow Alisa was horrible. JJ played well for the first four games then got tight. Alisa had lots of opportunities in the first set but would blow them by smacking a shot way past the baseline. Alisa never really improved in the 2nd and JJ's level never reached the heights of the first four games. Then at 4-2 Alisa's level dropped to a pathetically low level. Just horrendous tennis from that point on. Gifted JJ the match. Shit match to watch! Just Do It Mar 18th, 2010, 09:13 PM Alisa was horrible. That was a main reason why this match sucked. Jelena played just fine :yeah: дalex Mar 18th, 2010, 09:16 PM Lovely result. The quality of tennis was woeful though. The only good thing about Jelena's game was her serve. That, and she could have made more errors but thankfully didn't. JJ's biatch Mar 18th, 2010, 09:17 PM win them all Janka Talibanka :hearts: Marionated Mar 18th, 2010, 09:19 PM Win this thing JJ  Alisa's going to have to work on her mentatily. She's blown too many leads in her career. Match really sucked :help: Smoothstuff Mar 18th, 2010, 09:20 PM JJ was woeful today but she just had to be solid really Win it all :hearts: fantic Mar 18th, 2010, 09:21 PM moonballing itself was ok, the problem is she couldn't finish the easy points after JJ responded to THAT moonball poorly :o But I was surprised she could use a decent drop shot, pretty effective.. Overall, I think Alisa just handed the game to JJ. Again, after USO, what IS with these Russians...I don't think the future SAVIOR of WTA will come from Russia :o AnnaK_4ever Mar 18th, 2010, 09:23 PM Horrible match -- as expected. Kleybanova missing her ugly groundstrokes and looking confused when moving towards the net -- as expected. Jankovic merely pushing the ball but getting the job done -- as expected. Now JJ will make it to the final and defeat Wozniacki there -- as expected. Kim's_fan_4ever Mar 18th, 2010, 09:24 PM Thanks Alisa :worship: Us, Jankofans, appreciate all the help from you :worship: Mikey. Sassy-Na Mar 18th, 2010, 10:12 PM jj :speakles: win the whole damn thing now :p Illusionist Mar 18th, 2010, 10:16 PM It was about time that JJ gets off-form Alisa... I mean, Alisa was at top in all 3 encounters before this one. But I guess 8 hours she spent on the court before this QF has taken its toll on her. Lot of mistakes, but JJ was focused and managed to turn it over in 2nd set. Btw, 4 breaks in JJ - Kleys match... wtf?! rnwerner Mar 18th, 2010, 10:16 PM If you like errors just beside the lines, it was a good match. Potato Mar 18th, 2010, 10:18 PM Oh shit, everyone wants JJ to win. She's going to lose now :scared: SARA-GOAT Mar 18th, 2010, 10:25 PM Jelena :hearts: John. Mar 18th, 2010, 10:27 PM Alisa  Great run though JJ - Please win the title now :cheer: Cakeisgood Mar 18th, 2010, 10:27 PM I thought the first three games were high quality. I guess it teetered off after that. Szavay #1 Mar 18th, 2010, 10:50 PM :bounce: jelly :bounce: doktor Mar 18th, 2010, 10:51 PM JJ GOAT!! good luck in your semi! ivanban Mar 18th, 2010, 10:53 PM Wow Alisa was horrible. THIS. Horrible match -- as expected. Kleybanova missing her ugly groundstrokes and looking confused when moving towards the net -- as expected. Jankovic merely pushing the ball but getting the job done -- as expected. Now JJ will make it to the final and defeat Wozniacki there -- as expected. and THIS. :sobbing: JJ just needed to stay solid in this match, not even too solid but OK....yet, she barely managed to do it :o Otherwise, it would've been much more convincing victory Keep it up JJ, no more period till the end :rocker2: Apoleb Mar 18th, 2010, 10:54 PM I was not particularly impressed with Jankovic. She defended well, but she's still far from her 08 form when she was effortlessly turning defense into attack on the right point. The changes in her strokes (and physique maybe?) have hurt her game, and it does not look very natural anymore. Kleybanova did not play that differently from her Clijsters match. Which goes to show how bad Kim was. ivanban Mar 18th, 2010, 10:57 PM I was not particularly impressed with Jankovic. She defended well, but she's still far from her 08 form when she was effortlessly turning defense into attack on the right point. The changes in her strokes (and physique maybe?) have hurt her game, and it does not look very natural anymore. So true :tears: IMPOSSIBLE Mar 18th, 2010, 11:00 PM I loved watching her today, her strokes were so well produced and clean! hurricanejeanne Mar 18th, 2010, 11:30 PM Alisa  jjcrew#1 Mar 18th, 2010, 11:32 PM JJ you are making me very happy :hearts: Keep going propi Mar 18th, 2010, 11:36 PM Jelena won what else can I need?? :hearts: Gdsimmons Mar 18th, 2010, 11:37 PM DAMN!! I thought Kleybanova was on her way to the win. I can't pick a winner to save my life! Anyways good job Jankovic. serenafan08 Mar 18th, 2010, 11:37 PM Well I got to see what Alisa's biggest problem is. She overexerts herself; she throws everything into each shot. This was the first time I got to watch her play. She goes for too much when it isn't necessary. She wore herself out more than Jankovic beat her, at least that was the lasting impression on me from this match. LightWarrior Mar 18th, 2010, 11:48 PM Kleybanova was obviously injured and exhausted. BlackPanther. Mar 18th, 2010, 11:48 PM :yeah::yeah: Imperfect Angel Mar 19th, 2010, 12:06 AM JJ :speakles: :sobbing:  Proved me so wrong.:p Alisa :o  WowWow Mar 19th, 2010, 12:09 AM Girl! :inlove: Dinayer Mar 19th, 2010, 12:11 AM yay!! SAISAI-GOAT Mar 19th, 2010, 12:15 AM why is it make pottery ??? edificio Mar 19th, 2010, 12:29 AM I'm sure the match wasn't that bad, but I do think Kleybanova was probably tired and Jelena is finally getting into form. Good tournament for Kleybanova, though. Lacrish Mar 19th, 2010, 01:31 AM JJ  :woohoo: Now two more matches left to win the title,go! She's had a good week though. I'm very proud of her. Cosantoir Mar 19th, 2010, 03:20 AM why is it make pottery ??? For those that pronounce her name as CLAYbanova. Vodkapova Mar 19th, 2010, 03:29 AM Jelena's form is so random. skanky~skanketta Mar 19th, 2010, 03:39 AM Go Jelena! While I had wanted Justine/Kim/Svetlana to win the title (in that order), I like the remaining 4 semifinalists! Anyone winning would make me happy. Hopefully it Jelena though! sCoTt.ChE. Mar 19th, 2010, 03:44 AM Appaling match really. :help: :o :help: JJ was just about steady enough, nothing more needed. Poor Kleybanova just crumbled, maybe she had nightmares over that comeback Fed Cup win by JJ?! Now win this, Jelena Semiovic :inlove: Bronx19 Mar 19th, 2010, 04:19 AM Epic choke at 4-2 40-15. Its not fitness, its her head. She served like a champ and then it just fell apart. shoparound Mar 19th, 2010, 07:06 AM Lady JaJa Does it Again!!! S.T.A.R. Alisa. Pls let someone make Lady JaJa single feat. Ball Boys! Corswandt Mar 19th, 2010, 11:28 AM Epic choke at 4-2 40-15. Its not fitness, its her head. She served like a champ and then it just fell apart. I wouldn't call it a choke, but The Killer Whale certainly fell apart for no apparent reason when she was blowing Jankovic clean off the court halfway through the 2nd set. Replay of the latter stages of the AO match vs Henin for The Killer Whale in the sense that there wasn't an important point that she didn't thrown away with a needless error. Her shotmaking was undeniably impressive on occasion, but just too many crass errors throughout. Perhaps because she has lost to her twice in the past, Jankovic quickly learned how to play against The Killer Whale - she turned their Fed Cup match around by hitting the ball deep right to the corners over and over again and keeping The Killer Whale on the move. But yesterday she was quite subpar, being unable to keep the ball deep with any kind of consistency and making way more gratuitous errors than a player with her characteristics can afford to do; fortunately for her, she didn't even need to use any specific plan other than waiting for The Killer Whale to do crass errors on every single decisive point. Just about any shot hit deep into The Killer Whale's BH corner drew an error out of her. If Jankovic was playing better, even if far from her top form, she'd win IW easily. But after watching this I'm not so sure. Jose. Mar 19th, 2010, 12:04 PM Jelena :woohoo: Not the best tennis but semis :yeah: Win the title :wavey: Agata. Mar 19th, 2010, 12:46 PM JJ :) It wasn't a good match, but a win is a win :yeah: goldenlox Mar 19th, 2010, 01:39 PM I think she got tired. Thats the how the match Alisa lost to Sharapova last summer looked. Alisa was serving up a break and double faulted the game away. Then she tried to end every point too quickly. rucolo Mar 19th, 2010, 04:56 PM Jelena into IW SF!:hearts::D:yeah: Now beat Stosur! Reach Final, Jelena! pierce85 Mar 19th, 2010, 05:30 PM jelena should win this. | |
