and you created a new thread why? you could have easily asked this in the result thread.

anyway: no, of course it isn't. one example is likhovsteva being up 6:0 and then losing 8 straight points against mary pierce in moscow some years ago.

No. I would say Likhovtseva's 6-0 lead in the final set tiebreak over Mary Pierce in Moscow (2005?) is worse... Mary Pierce won the tiebreak 8-6.

Didn't Venus do that to Mirza at the AO in 2008?

I believe Bepa blew a 6-0 lead in a tiebreaker at the Pilot Pen a few years ago. Can someone confirm that?

Fairly sure you can't lose from 7-0 up. After winning that point at 6-0, you win the set.

I know.:p I mean I'd rather choke from 4-0 up and lose 7 points in a row, rather than not winning a point in the tiebreak at all.:p

i remember that one...mary just hit winner after winner. elena got really unlucky, it really wasn't a choke on her part

Someone lost a Tie Break after being 6-0, I don't remember who she was, maybe Natasha Zvereva, or Nicole Pratt or someone I can't remember

Please the worst tie break loss belongs to Vera in her amazing match vs. Myskina :hearts:

OMG Likhovtseva! True! I knew it was against Mary Pierce but I couldn't remember the other... oh wow it has to feel awful and in front of your home crowd... And about Vera, well it was an awesome tie break Myskina ended winning but they both had chances, this is a horrible choke by Elena.

Well with over 40 years of the tiebreaker and hundreds of matches in professional tennis every week, I would think every scenario has happened many times. I was just pointing out an example of it.
:tape: Seriously, it happens on a weekly basis. Some people.... :rolls:

Yeah, but it doesn't take away from the disappointment that fans feel when their fave blows a big lead or the elation when they dominate a tiebreak.

Steffi versus Monica french open 1990. Steffi was leading 6:0 and lost 6:8. Steffi and tiebreaks at the french open was never a good match afterwards (at least not from the quarterfinals on. she won a few in earlier rounds)
