This is good news. :) I saw MGM play once in California many years ago and I was totally impressed. She fought hard and won a really tight match against Corina Morariu.

Obviously Mikaelian is an ethnic Armenian name (as are almost all ending in ian) but MGM could have jumped to France had she (and her Dad) wanted. Georges was born in Lebanon when it was under French occupation, giving him and his immediate family the right to emigrate there. But Marie is into Armenian culture ala their music, so this change seems like a better fit.
