Towards the end JJ would hit every shot she could to the Rezai FH.

Great defense from JJ but I hope she tries to attack some more.

She was playing catch up for over half the match, she really hung in there and nutted it out!

Keep it up JJ.

Aravane :bigcry::hug:
At least she will understand she cannot last 2.30hours beating non top 50 players in early rounds if she wants to be a threat during the next rounds.
She was indeed out of gas ..

I like how JJ stayed clam in third set, even after being down 0:30 and 15:40 in her two last serve games. Nice comeback from 1:3 in third set too. :D

Well fought win for Jelena :bounce:

Rezai wasted so many chances. See Aravane, this is what you get for speaking trash about the Serbian GOAT. Not impressed!

Congrats, Jelena. I have to say Sneki looked especially cute today. :hearts:

She was indeed out of gas ..

she needs to learn to do something other than hit hard  if she wins then too good, but for the most part she flames out and doesn't seem to know how to do anything else once her hard shots aren't landing in....most top players, even if rezai doesn't physically run out of gas, either waits out her storm or steps up to a level she can't defend against....

but anyways....jj :inlove:

Pavly just won a match
Maria won 62 60:eek:
What is happening to the world?

Jelena was at some moments playing like at the end of 2008. And I love the serve. And sometimes she CAN hit winners. I'm so used to see Caroline play , that now it seems to me that JJ is playing like a goat

JJ was amazing, not playing "anywhere near her best" and still pulling out a win against a tough opponent... Caravane played some really excellent points, but i think she just really needs to work on that service motion, there's just no rhythm at all so when she get tight its just :help:

I'd also like to add for anyone in australia, isn't Eurosports the freakin best, before now the only wta we got so see was like a shit MM final played 3 days later at 2:00am on fox sports, watchin a live tournament thats not a slam is friggin awesome...

I don't think Jelena will get some confindence from defeatin Rezai, not even after this close match. Duel against Vera will show is her old form really back, like it was in Belgrade during Fed cup weekend...

hahah have you even seen the match??? rezai played some pretty good tennis, and jelena responded in the best way she can against ball basher like aravane. she was far from rubish...

Jelena is always a class act. She said some really nice things about Rezai after.

Q. She's got a decent ranking now,
but she looks like a player with a big future?

JELENA JANKOVIC: Yeah, I think she's
really a good player. She's a tough player to
play against. And she has had some really good
results lately. She's had some really good wins,
and it's not easy at all. You know, I was able to,
you know, to stay in the match and to little bit at
times lift my game and get through this match.
She played really well, and I was lucky to get her
today.

Rezai got checked, and it's time for her to sit down. JJ has beaten her on, and off the court! :bounce::bounce::bounce:
