Laura Robson was victorious against 6th seed Maria Sharapova 6-1, 6-3 and Andy Murray took out John Isner also in straight sets, setting them two matches away from the finals of their singles. "I feel very good about my chances now that the first week is taken care of and we start narrowing down to the grittier part of the tournament," Laura, the 14th seed responded. "I started out as a huge underdog but after upsetting Sharapova, I feel much better about my chances. Hopefully the doubles and mixed doubles are going to help me out!" "It's great for Britain to have both of us doing well," Murray replied in a press conference. The turnaround came in the fourth game of the match when Dementieva hit 4 winners and held her serve for the first time. The Swiss pulled through after a topsy turvy match and it came as a surprise to the spectators as Murray had generally dominated the match, pulling through the most important points and destroying Wawrinka 6-2 in the 1st and 3rd sets. Unfortunately for Murray the prospect of beating someone who leads their head-to-head 5-1 (now 6-1) was too much and nerves got the better of the Scot as he squandered no less than 7 match points! The Scot earned his first match point late in the fourth set when he lead Wawrinka 5-2, but the Swiss refused to go down easy soaring his trademark backhand cross court, out smarting Murray who was already running in the other direction. Next Murray hit a perfect first serve only to be devoured by Wawrinkas flawless backhand. This clearly rattled Murray as he hit a double fault on match point #3 and Wawrinka went on to win the set 7-5. Murray was determined not to make the same mistakes in Set 5 and rampaged to a 5-1 lead. Again Wawrinka was not to be denied, breaking Murray twice and reeling off 5 games in a row to level the match at 5-5 and closing it out on his first match point to close a memorable win. This will be Wawrinkas second grandslam final on tour, his first being Wimbledon in S1 losing ironically to Murray in 5 sets. Of his feat Wawrinka had to say 'I am so happy to make my second grand slam final! It's been an amazing few months for me. After winning Indian Wells last year I was burdened by expectation and the pressure killed me. At Wimbledon anger at myself fuelled me to play my best, unfortunately I lost in the final to a player I have beat many times and again beat today. It was an incredible match, I am still in shock to have won! I faced so many match points all it would have taken would to be one mistake by me and it would have been all over. I fought hard and Andy tightened up and I came through! I have a huge task ahead. I play Andy Roddick the tours #1 player on tour. He serves bombs and has a fantastic forehand so I will have to play my very best to have a chance. After winning YEC singles and Doubles without having dropped a single set I know I can do this. He has beaten me once and I have beaten him once so it is anybody's game tomorrow...He also already has two slam titles and is the more experienced of us two.'. Oddly Wawrinka did not mention another feat he achieved this week. Regardless of the result in the final Stanislas will become the #1 player in the world for the first time on Monday. This injury was happened during her match against Serena Williams in YEC last year . Although she won at the end , Alize had suffered her shoulder seriously when she tried serving for the match but lucky that she finally finished the match . Today, Alize confirmed about the rumors that she will retire after the AO and when Alize was asked about this and she explained : “ During the match with Serena last year , my serves didn’t work very well , I was just trying to serve as good as I can but …. after my attempted to serve a hard ball , I failed and my shoulder was in pain then I took the medical time out and lucky to be able serve some more and wait for Serena to make UEs. I was going to stop the match immiediately but I thought I could fight to the end”.After that , Alize said that she will rest and hope that her shoulder will feel better in the next season and bring her good results . Last week , she lost to Dinara Safina in three dramatic tough sets, then the injury restarted again : “ I’m so disappointed ! I was hoping that it’s ok now but I was wrong , I was in pain almost the 3rd set but I tried to fight every single point and I lost in the end .
