The Dubai organisers have no idea how to compose a tournament.

This is awesome.

When was the last time that a winner of a tournament played the day after the final and won her match??

Zvonareva has a good start in 2010. There is just one single loss at AO and she should have won this match.

Sure, it's Dubai organisers' fault Zvonareva likes to play random MM tournaments. :weirdo:

this tournament needs to start on a monday and finish on a sunday, no wonder why paris was sooo weak with big names.

poor organisation by dubai tournament

all credit to zvonareva, she must be hanging now

Very admirable win. Winning a tournament in one city and then winning your first match in another city a very substantial distance away without even a day off is not something that many players even attempt to do much less succeed. Was she crazy to try? Maybe. But thank goodness for all the crazy people in the world who have the courage, hootspa and toughness to take on the challenges lesser souls run away from. :yeah:

yes i do realise that thankyou

but the current schedule of play is neither healthy or friendly towards the players...it would be fine if there was a week between paris and dubai, giving the top players more recovery time

And AO was really her first tournament back after surgery (since she had to w/d in tuneup)...she's doing great. :)

After arriving at 5:00am this morning in Dubai I barely survived my match against Vesnina 6-4, 4-6, 7-5. I was down 1-4 in the third set and somehow found the energy to fight back. Definitely going to sleep well tonight. She arrived in Dubai at 05:00 and had to play at 15:00 :help:

Given the circumstances, this was a great win
