That's 2/3 for Lena in this decade so far. Keep that ratio up please.

Vera can now add Paris Indoors to the list of her favourite tournaments. :inlove:

Didn't see much of the tennis this week but Lucie has been so good, if only she could sustain it more. This is obviously encouraging though. :yeah:

Ugh and the Paris trophy used to be so good although still not your typical tennis trophy.

I don't like when long running tournaments suddenly change their trophy like this, it takes away a bit from the history of the event IMO.

Great match. I ignored the live score to watch it in TV.

Gutted for Lucie but she should be proud. She played superbly except in the second set and Lena is just too tough in three sets.

Gorgeous touch by Lucie at times. But Lena gained service confidence from Lucie's return problems.

Congrats to Lena fans.

The WTA desperately needs more finals like this one.

What a great win for Lena, she really had to scrap for this title.
For some reason I wasn't worried after she lost the 1st set but I had visions of last years final happening all over again after she romped through the 2nd set.
The tournament trophy is horrific, I'm sure Lena was thinking" Uhm, can I trade this in for last years trophy?". Its like that alien ball trophy they have for Metz on the mens tour:tape:
Very disapopointed for Lucie, she played so well this week. She's pulled out of Dubai next week too to protect herself against further injury. I really hope she will manage to stay injury free for the rest of the year.
So, 3 tournaments entered and 2 titles. As Meatloaf said "Don't be sad...cos 2 out of 3 ain't bad";)
Hope she can carry this momentum forward to IW/Miami. Not too pushed about Dubai next week, she has a bit of a nightmare draw:rolleyes:

Some of the tennis in that first set was literally awesome. Lena's typical frantic rally pace and superb defense, combined with an in-form Safarova's shotmaking, and all this on a rocket fast indoor court = my kind of tennis.

I'm bummed Lucie lost, but I can at least acknowledge Dementieva's rock-solid defense. She just brings so many balls back in court. That FH squash shot cross court that she used so often really frustrated Safarova.

For Lucka, please keep working hard and build on this result. Don't make me wait another three years to see you playing so beautifully and confidently.

She sure looks like she's tearing up there. Nobody said she was a sobbing wreck but she was obviously very emotional and it certainly looked like there may have been a tear or two of joy.

I think it's cute and endearing. She's wanted to win this tournament so badly and after last year you could hardly blame her for being so happy.

4- 10 before Tokyo 2006
12-4 post Tokyo 2006 in Finals Very good indeed! she had bad luck ,in the last two slams, losing to Melanie at the USOpen, basically a player that was on fire, and losing to Henin in Australia, Henin would have beaten almost any seed she met at that stage, unlucky for Elena. I'am glad she got some revenge on Melanie in Paris.
Always love the beautiful Elena.
