So Vogt next? Although there is no confirmation of this result yet..

Nope, Rajicic instead. Winnable surely, but then again, who knows.

And I think that this time she can do it :cheer:
Who will she play in the next round, Sun or Moore???
Whoever she meets in the QF and whoever she might meet in the SF is beatable IMO :D
Even in the Final given the players left in the draw combined with Olivia's form :)

Perfectly said muusa :D
Anett will get her revenge and make her first 25K Semi :armed:
I wonder if it will be streamed :D
I can't wait for a potential interview with Anett :D
If Anett doesn't make US Open Qualies, I would love to see her play the ridiculously weak 25s in Australia and pick up about 100 points :D
BTW, her projected ranking after making the QF will put her just outside the Top 370 :)

As did Shuai Peng's loss to Radwanska at AO 4th Round 2011 :sobbing:
Although it wasn't really Kaia's fault, she just either let Kvitova dictate and waited for the error or missed her 1st Serve

Well, but she was able to break Kvitova's serve twice and build a 4-0 lead in 3rd set, and later from 5-2 to 6-8. Total 5 match points missed.

BTW, our guys showed a good fight in DC doubles, lost first 2 sets, won the next 2, but then...from 5-2 to 7-9. It was so painful to follow the twitter updates. Chokestonia

Anett plays only doubles (with Carol) on Tuesday, good luck! Their opponents are Inoue/Miyazaki
Btw they won 62 60 in qualies.

Btw, just found out that Anett is on the entry list for Moscow 25k starting on the 18th of February. She is 5th alt atm, but there will be a lot of withdrawals no doubt (deadline is tomorrow). The 25k-s in Moscow were quite weak last spring, the MD cut-off was 450-600 for the three different tournaments I looked up, so let's see how it goes with this one.

Tennisfan06

Hadzic in R1.

Moscow is not even in her schedule on her website, they update her ranking but not the schedule :spit: I wonder why she didn't stay in Australia and play Mildura 25k instead, it is weaker than Burnie and Launceston, she would be in MD there.

I wonder why she didn't stay in Australia and play Mildura 25k instead, it is weaker than Burnie and Launceston, she would be in MD there.

Most likely financial reasons, she can't afford staying in Australia for 2 more weeks? Although according to the ITF site the hotel in Mildura for example is 65 EUR and in Moscow 90 EUR  And the flights to Moscow and back. Also, in Australia she would have excellent conditions for training in terms of weather.

Its because Mildura is on grass
Indoor hard suits Anett much better :)
And I think that she doesn't want to wait around to train on grass and then just go back when it doesn't benefit her season at all :)
I am not sure which one is a better choice, but if it is not inconvenient and I was her, I think i'd play Moscow too as it's like Yoshkar-Ola but nicer :)

EDIT: Moscow is really strong  I know she likes IH but I would have played Mildura as well

Yet another bad day? Mental issues after losing the last match? She is so inconsistent. Also she needs a coach asap, a 17-year-old cannot be without a coach. Has she found anyone to consider at least? These teen years are very important in terms of development and she is losing valuable time.

On Anett's calendar is only Bath 15K, not Sutherland :)
If she does only play the 1, then along with Tallinn she will have only played 4 Tournaments in the First 3 Months of the year :)
That puts her exactly on her tournament limit :)

I think that after that she should hit the Green Clay in America and play a few of: 25K Pelham, 50K Dothan, 50K Charlottesville, 50K Indian Harbour Beach and 25K Raleigh or play the 50K + H in Johanesburg :)

The list for 15K Bath has barely weakened at all and she is now 2nd Last in, and will be last when Ana uses her JE :(

According to this she plays two 15k-s in UK and then Tallinn of course.
She might play Junior Wimbledon, but it depends on the schedule.
Says her goal is to be top 200 by the end of the season.

I wanted her to get coached by Margit :D
Hopefully he will be a good edition :)
She needs to leave behind Juniors and start travelling more :)
I know she played badly in her last trip to Asia but a nice time in Indonesia could be helpful :oh:
Still annoyed she got 26 Points in Australia instead of getting around 75 whcih I thought she might get when she was up 6-1 in the TB :D
I thought that maybe she would have chosen Silver

FYI, silver is considered a joke in Estonian wise tennis circle - he has an awful personality and thinks he is a God which he is not. He is rather good coaching tennis but he cannot communicate, specially with women. and I won't go even there what Kaia had to go thru. Amazed that she managed to stay that long with him.

She seems to peak at big events against good players so if she can draw a Qualifier or WC she has such a good shot at 50 Points :) Its kinda funny that if she had won Burnie she also would have gotten 50 points  Winning 25Ks is the same as a round at a PM :D
No wonder so many top players play ITF :D

When I checked last night it said that the Entry Deadline was the 7th. Now every tournament says the 8th...
Also, why was Kaia not able to play in Nassau then if she lost in R2 after having Round 1 Bye???
I agree that many will play in France but I still think that Anett will need WC to make MD :(

Meelis
Mar 8th, 2013, 04:18 AM

Meelis

But Kaia was in MD...
If Anett wins a round in Miami that is the same as getting a 1st round BYE...

This is the rule:

A player is allowed to play in an ITF Women’s Circuit tournament during
the second week of a Grand Slam or multi-week WTA tournament
provided she has been eliminated from the singles and doubles of that
tournament prior to the ITF Women’s Circuit tournament Qualifying
Sign-in Deadline. Any suchplayer who is still competing in the Grand
Slam or multi-week WTA tournament at this deadline must withdraw
from the relevant ITF Women’s Circuit tournament.

Miami MD starts on Tuesday (instead of Wednesday like IW) and Tallinn has a Saturday qualifying sign-in (instead of Friday like Nassau had).

I dont know why people think she can't win... Mchale has been quite bad this year
She has won 5 matches: Chang, Parmentier, Dushevina, Pironkova and Safarova. All were in bad form and were ranked lower than her except for Safarova who was just playing disastrously and Mchale went on to lose 0 and 0 to Azarenka
Also, Mchale is a choker so it wouldn't surprise me if she could not deal with the home pressure  I know she has had moderate success in the US in the past but I wouldn't put the odds above 60-40 for Mchale  :)

No surprises there. Well or maybe a small negative one as I expected a bit more fight. She was unlucky with the draw seeing who the other wildcards were playing (Peer, Kiick, Siniakova etc). And yes, would have been better for her if she could have played qualies instead, she is not ready for such level yet.

Now, let's see how a jetlagged Anett can play in Tallinn. She will use a wildcard for the main draw most likely?

Also I guess it's good for her to start from qualies in Edgebaston, at least she gets to play some more matches - it really doesn't help her if she constantly gets to play a match or two only.

Has withdrawn from Wiesbaden/Civitavecchia, but not from Sharm el Sheikh/Edinburgh.

Back to 10k?

She really is falling. I mean IMO if she doesn't feel she can win matches at 25K level she shouldn't return given that it is a waste of a tournament. Chiasso wasn't even strong this year
Sharm El Sheikh and Edinburgh will be weak as 10Ks go so if she loses her confidence will be shot. I mean if she's not ready to return then don't play.

EDIT: From Anett's Twitter :sobbing:
"Nothing worse then seeing the cut on your foot open up again which means more time off court:( #nooo #shattered"

"Just wanted to go to Switzerland and play some tennis #whyme #somad"

The second one wouldn't explain why she is playing 10Ks... maybe she just hasn't withdrawn yet :)

Hopefully she recovers :) :(

Has now withdrawn from Sharm as well. Looks like Edinburgh it is? :(
Should stick to 25ks in my opinion, there will be plenty of them coming in May and June and in most weeks there are 3 or even 4 such tournaments in Europe so the level would be weaker no doubt.

This. I mean when she is in good shape I really think she should be playin 2-3 25s in Europe every month and if she can make QF/SF she will be Top 250 by the end of the year :)

This thread is becoming rather inactive which upsets me :(
Therefore I am going to become freaky again :D
1st: Anett is still in Edinburgh. The field is quite average/weak for a 10K (cut-off 839) and the only player IMO who she may have trouble with is Michel and I still doubt she would actually lose unless she was injured.
2nd: Anett has entered 4 tournaments the week after (May 6th) which are 75K Trnava, 50K + H Johannesburg, 100K Cagnes-Sur-Mer and 10K Bastad in order of priority. I doubt she'll play Johannesburg as it is on Hardcourt (Edinburgh is a Clay tournament shockingly) and out of the way. I think Trnava or Bastad are her most likely choices depending on how she feels. I personally recommend neither.

Her placings in the tournaments she has entered:
10K Edinburgh: #1 Seed in Main Draw
75K Trnava: Alternate #89
50K + H Johannesburg: Alternate #5
100K Cagnes-Sur-Mer: Alternate #95
10K Bastad: #5 Seed

I think she would probably make MD in Johannesburg and would be seeded 1 or 2 in Bastad: she would be in Qualies for both Cagnes-Sur-Mer and Trnava though IMO

Discuss :) :D

muusa
Apr 19th, 2013, 01:19 PM
Yeah, I was also just checking these entry lists and was going to post, but you were faster

She should maybe skip that week of 6th May imo, too strong or too weak tournaments. There will be plenty of suitable tournaments coming in Europe. On the other hand, until the end of May there might be no better options.

*27 May - Grado, Maribor, Moscow 25ks
*03 Jun - Brescia, Agri 25ks (also 75k and 100k the same week so the 25s would be weaker I assume)
*17 Jun - Ystad, Montpellier, Lenzerheide 25ks
*24 Jun - Perigueux, Stuttgart-Vaihingen, Zlin, Kristinehamn 25ks
*01 Jul - Denain, Middelburg, Torun 25ks (also 100k and 50k the same week)
*15 Jul - Woking, Darmstadt, Imola 25ks (also 100k and 50k the same week)

I hope she does not play Junior Wimbledon, but plays a number of those 25s instead.

I'd really like her see playing something else but 10k, so hopefully it won't be Bastad.. Cagnes-Sur-Mer is probably too tough (going by the memory for the previous years). Choices, choices..

And now seeing the tournament options for May till July where it's about the USO players to be decided, it feels like the summer is about to be over:tape: and we just got rid of the snow.

Maybe a good chance to grab points is the RG qualifying week. There's 25k Caserta, and Casablanca.

chingching
Apr 22nd, 2013, 06:19 AM
Anett is still entered into all the tournaments. She hasn't moved up as much as I would have liked though :(
These are her positions:
Trnava 75K: Alternate #82
Cagnes-Sur-Mer 100K: Alternate #89
Johannesburg 50K + H: Alternate #1
Bastad 10K: Seed #5

In terms of how the Lists would look with only Priority 1 players:
Trnava 75K: Alternate #10
Cagnes-Sur-Mer 100K: Alternate #32 :sobbing:
Johannesburg 50K + H: Main Draw #13 :haha:
Bastad 10K: Seed #1

I understand that Trnava and Cagnes-Sur-Mer won't stay that strong but I have never seen 2 tournaments in Europe with that many P1s and that many highly ranked players

South Africa is starting to look really good because those players who will be seeded (based on Priorities) are Babos, Majeric, Kichenok X 2, Gasparyan, Murray, Naydenova and Jaksic. Along with that, there are only about 5 Priority 2s ahead of her and if she wins the tournament (which she won't) it is 90 Points!!!

I mean, just winning a round in MD gets her 12 Points which is the same as winning Edinburgh and a QF brings 24. I mean, unless she gets Babos or she is playing very badly, I don't really see her losing before the SF which is 40 points :inlove: Given the other tournament options that week, I think that is the best option. On the other hand though, if she bombs out First Round then she will have wasted a lot of money for 1 tournament
Also it is on hard which would not suit her at all if she wants to warm up for RG
I really think she should give Juniors a miss but if she wants a GS she would almost definitely get it here as the new Juniors are shit
At least compared to her :D

Still, I would love to play in South Africa :D Go on a safari :D

Well, she lost to one player who I thought was overranked and made the Semis and beat a player ranked higher than her on the Pro Circuit along with Lottner. They are Grade 2 Juniors IMO.

This is how it goes:
Grade 1: Anett, Ana Konjuh, Katerina Siniakova
Grade 2: Lottner, Danilina, Kiick etc.
Grade 3: Fridman, Ploskina, Marfutina etc.

Now, all the Grade 3 players have been whoring up points and are now ranked nearly higher than her
Siniakova is not playing Juniors and Konjuh still seems injured as she hasn't played in over 2 months.
Also, some of the Grade 2 Juniors aren't playing, so realistically she could get Varvara Flink in the Quarter Finals
These are the real shit juniors :D

In reality, I think she will end up playing Bastad :(
I don't think she'll be in good enough form to try the hard events and she'll want to play on clay so unless she skips the week she will play at least 1 Bastad :sobbing:

BTW, I love your new Elektriraudtee trains :D

These Japanese tournaments are not grass, but "artificial grass" (carpet with bit of sand on it).

Yeah the Synthetic Grass is in Australia so much. Basically it is a fast hardcourt which can be slid on. Quite fast though and low bouncing :) Would suit Anett IMO :)

A) Kan I don't believe is intending to play
B) Sorribes-Tormo (and even Kan for that matter) would get a seeding due to their Pro Rankings wouldn't they?

Anett's schedule has been posted on her website. Great that she is going to play Moscow 25k at the end of May, this will most likely be weak enough for her to get to MD.

However not so great imo is that she really intends to play junior RG  Yeah, I can understand she really wants that trophy, but still.. Well, on the other hand, Bouchard for example was a year older than her when she still played junior slams last spring, she was not even top 300 at that time and now she's in top 100.

Doubles are actually important in juniors, as it gives ranking points. In these small ITF's doubles are (for the most players) much, much less important than singles. Most tournaments in Europe even do not manage to fill up the doubles draw.

And if you lose early in singles, then it's easy to concentrate on doubles and make best effort there ;) When Anett and Tanja won European Championships, then she also lost early in singles.
