Great Anett :D
After the first, she obviously gained confidence and ran away with it :D
I really hope she can go deep here, and she really has the draw too :)
Sorry for being kinda inactive, but I am in Europe and this was the first time I could get to the computer :)
The Estonians are doing really well lately :D

Will there be livescores or stream for this tournament???
The youtube channel juniortennis.ru has somne hoighlights of various Russian 25K Finals so hopefully Anett gets a mention :D

i wrote an article on anett recently. there's nothing in it that fans don't already know, but i thought i'd post a link here and people who want to can have a look at it. also, the website is pretty cool if you're into challengers and lesser-known players.

Kontaveit def. Shamayko 6-3 7-5

apparently, shamayko was up *5-1 in 2nd. shouldnt have let her get to that position, but given that was where she found herself, great stuff from anett to battle back. this tournament is there for the taking...

Being down 15* is disappointing indeed, but win is a win. Hopefully she doesn't stop here.

Her coach told that Anett played a good match overall. Only lost focus at the beginning of the 2nd set, wanted to get fast points. But when Anett forced her opponent to move and she waited a right time to attack, she controlled everything.

Anett lost to Nadiya Kichenok 6-7(3) 7-5 6-3

Looks like it was a tough battle, shame Anett was on the losing end.

25ks are not really going for her:o, though this time at least she didn't lose in the 1st round.

From her FB (http://www.facebook.com/anettkontaveit.tennis) page:
Unfortunately i went down today 76 57 36. I think i played well today but i didnt have good energy on the court. I guess im quite tired from long tour and im happy to go home and get some much needed rest now.

A bit of a disappointing loss, but if she thinks she played well then that's all that matters :hug:
Her opponent is in the final and has had great success as a doubles player so it is not so bad :)
Anyway, she is slowly making her way up the rankings and I hope she can finally get that 25K SF :)
I suspect that after teh loss of the tight second that she lost a bit of confidence :(

A really nice article BTW :)

Wow, Moscow really? Tamla says "maybe", so it is not 100% sure yet. The cutoff cannot be that low indeed.
Minsk and Helsinki I guessed myself as well, but then it means she won't use all the available tournaments - altogether she could still play 5 I think.

Cut-off does not matter. Anett is not top 375, so she is not allowed to enter premier tournaments. Can only have a wild-card.

How exciting :D
Although, it might just be more hype :(
What will happen o her schooling :(
Also, that picture is becoming my new Avatar :D
I was going to make it ages ago but I shall now :yeah:

So Yoshkar-Ola was creepy :lol:
I can't believe her parents let her keep all her money :eek:

Anett could break the Top 400 by just losing 1st Round here as there are 10 people that are on 92 or 93 points :D

If she loses Rnd 2 of qualies, she gets the same as making 2nd Round of a 25K (:tape:) and will go up to around 390.

If she loses in FQR she will get 12 Points (less that QF of a 25K :facepalm: This is a PREMIER tournament!!!! :lol:) and that will put her up to around 380.

If she manages to Qualify, she will gain 20 Points (+ 1 Point from losing Rnd 1 in MD) and will go up to around 365 :)

If Anett somehow manages to win a round, she will gain 90 Points, which will put her ranking up to around 300 :D

Let's hope this extra training will have done some great things for her consitency and confidence and that she can pick up here where she left off in Copenhagen. She seems to be working her way back up now :)

She hasn't probably recovered from the intensive trainings, needs to get used to it. Don't really get the logic behind playing here anyway, I mean - losing early in a weak 25k - what to do next? Yes, let's play a 600k :confused:

Oh well, it can be counted as 'experience' I guess.

Says she will play Minsk and Helsinki, then stays at home for a couple of weeks and then off to Thailand to prepare for the next season. Also mentioned that before AO she might play a tournament in NZL starting at the very end of Dec or so. Does she mean Auckland WTA?

AO is going to be important for her, because that might be the last junior tournament. She wants to win of course after already having 2 semis and a final, but on the other hand she doesn't want to put too much pressure on herself.

Says she has had to turn down some local sponsorship (advertising) agreements due to lack of time. :eek:

Auckland is now sharing week with 2 tournaments so QD cut off should be lower. But still she will have to do well in Minsk and Helsinki if she wants to make it. I don't really expect them to give her a WC.

Where is all this. I can't see any of it :lol:
Anyway, I think Anett will make QD. One year Dekmeijere made it and Shenzhen is supposedly 500K now :)
The one thing I like about Anett's scheduling is that despite her having a frustratingly low ranking, every tournament seems to have a purpose. then when she gets really low she goes and wins a 10K somewhere and brings her ranking back up. Every tournament she plays IMO will help her in the long run :)

She might get a Doubles WC with Emily :D
Emily was actually getting a lot of press attention after their win, having about 5 articles about her and they even mentioned that her partner went on to win the tournament :oh: At least she will get to see her good friend :D

It would be great to see Anett play some tournaments in Equatorial Asia, as she has had success there before and the fields are normally weaker than East-Asia :)

It was very strong a few years ago, so Anett will only be in Qualies I presume :(

BTW, the girl who beat Anett in Beijing, Yuxuan Zhang, just ebat Kai-Chen Chang and is one win away from getting an Australian Open WC. She also made QF at 100K Suzhou beating SaiSai Zheng. Maybe she isn't that bad :oh: She has been so GOAT since beating Anett, like every other player who has ever beaten her :angel:

She has no intent tit seems to withdraw from helsinki :shrug:
I hope she doesn't go to America again. There is no point in her playing any Juniors anymore except Grand Slams but to only focus on Pros and maybe get a higher seeding from her Pro Ranking :shrug:
Anyway, she is obviously still playing as she is searching for that slam and I will be going to Melbourne and will get to see her :D

She actually started badly (was down *0-2) so you may consider that after she got into the match it's a 6-1 6-2 scoreline.

And yeah, Knapp played like shit. I watched her match and she let her opponent (who is barely Top 500) go *4-1 in set 1. :spit: Her opponent then "choked" but I guess that with Anett it won't be the same. :)

Yeah, I think they're similar too :) Such a shame I can't follow livescores :(

Her best wins that gives points and money;)

Maybe she can also get a revenge for last year's loss against Sadikovic next round.

Wow, that's a great result! Too bad about the tiebreak, but a really great 2nd and 3rd set. Honestly I didn't believe she could win after losing the tb.
This should be her best win on ITF/WTA circuit?

Next up is Sadikovic, lost to her last time in Helsinki, but it went to three sets. Hopefully a revenge is waiting :) Or it goes by the other scenario when she defeats a high seed only to lose to someone random in the next round.

Lost to Sadikovic 57 36.

Can't say that I'm not disappointed, even if Sadikovic should win the whole thing. Still not going anywhere at 25ks really. But I understand it's not fair to expect such a big development each year like she had last year.

Nov 18th, 2012, 07:37 PM
I know :lol: And except for Mestach and Majeric, Anett was the closest as Sadikovic gave Schmiedlova a bagel. But I can understand why Sadikovic is a bad match up for Anett: She has a huge serve but has really good defensive skills, playing a good slice and excellent volleys. Anett would have struggled to attack her and when she gave a short ball, I think Sadikovic would have won almost every point. I hope Anett plays Ankara 50K :D I think she has a chance to go far there :) Anyway, 2 straight 25K QFs is much better for Anett than some of her other results this season :)

I'm also disappointed even if we now know that Sadikovic has won the tournament. Still no 25k semi and far from the initial goal (top 300). Let's see how she will continue developing in the coming year.

I was thinking:
WTA Auckland Pro Event 1
Australian Open Junior
25K Burnie Pro Event 2
25K Launceston Pro Event 3
25K Moscow Pro Event 4
25K Tallinn Pro Event 5

Then I thought she could play on arguably her best surface, Green Clay in America as there are about 5 Tournaments on it in a row and then if she's lucky she could get a Charleston WC or even make it off her rank if she can get to be Top 250, which a SF average would do :)

I really think they should give surface WC like the winner of GA Osaka gets a WC to WC Osaka HC and Anett's Orange Bowl victory could get her a WC to WTA Charleston Green Clay :D

A bit too close, but it is only the first match after a long break, so overall ok I guess. Of the other main contenders Konjuh lost the same amount of games and Lottner was in big difficulties. However, her next opponent Vajdova only lost 4 games :unsure:

She usually starts slow in those junior tournaments, but improves with every match.
She is playing doubles with Emily again, first opponents are 4th seeded Dunne/Makarova. Townsend is not there so they have a good chance at winning if they play as good as they did last year.

It turns out Ohtuleht found out about the bra :oh:
There was a photo of her opponent but not of her on the AO website :lol:
I think she should be OK and I think her and Emily would be favourites to win against Dunne/Makarova, even the tournament :)
It would be great if she could win Singles and Doubles :)

Here are some pics of Anett from Zimbio :)

I like Anett in that outfit :)

BTW, they have re-evaluated the ranking points system :)

Here is it:
Regular GA tournament
Round 32 Loser = 30 points
Round 16 Loser = 50 points
Quaterfinals = 80 points
Semifinals = 120 points
Runner-up = 180 points
Winner = 250 points

Super GA tournaments (Italian Open, Orange Bowl, Youth Olympics)
Round 32 loser = 30 points
Round 16 loser = 62.5 points
Quarterfinals = 100 points
Semifinals = 165 points
Runner-up = 225 points
Winner = 312.5 points

Grand Slams
Round 32 loser = 30 points
Round 16 loser = 75 points
Quarterfinals = 120 points
Semifinals = 180 points
Runner-up = 270 points
Winner = 375 points

If only they had done it last year she would be much higher ranked :lol:

Finally, from her facebook:
