I'm just surprised how noone (Nicole's fans) take this as an improvement from what she showed in Lutz, she obviously fought really hard so I would consider this a big improvement and we can maybe expect one or two wins in Memphis with a good draw.. she even showed emotions, that's important! so wake up, people and give her some time. If she wants it, she will get it! and I believe she will because she showed emotions and wanted to win, it's obvious she tanked that 25k in Lutz where there weren't even ballkids :spit:

no surprise really, she plays an itf or wta tournament every few weeks and each time theres huge preasure on to make it happen. which with no match practice and seemingly no confidence it aint gonna happen.

if she wants to come back she needs to enter her name down for a good 5 or 6 straight 25k/50k's and play match after match, getting match practice and the feel of playing tournaments again.

she aint gonna come back playing the odd tournament here or there, it is just too unrealistic.

So what do you think, where did Vaidisova start her glorious career? At the Wimbledon Centre Court? No, at 10K and 25Ks. So she knew what she's in for when she PULLED OUT of the Australian Open qualies to enter that shitty tournament with no ballkids.

Or you're suggesting she's really really dumb.

In that case why didn't she play the Australian Open qualifying? So you think all of her losses are "tanks"? Oh please. If the 6-4 6-2 loss to McHale in the 25K event was a tank, was the 6-2 6-1 loss to Tan also a tank? Was the loss today a tank too? Oh wait...I sense a pattern :spit: What does it say about Nicole if she was so motivated for this "high quality" 100K event, yet still lost 1R to a nobody in straight sets?

And yes, $25K Lutz is a shitty tournament, but Vaidisova is a shitty player so I guess she is well and truely in her place :wavey:

Wowa give rus the respect she deserves please...

I know, it's not very likely Rus will ever get to the top30 but she's still steadily improving. She's fighting it out now and getting through her matches. She was VERY inconsistent last year, but maybe she can change that around a bit now. I'm really hoping so.

Look at the results she had last week in fedcup:

R2 - A.RUS (NED) def. T.PIRONKOVA (BUL)
6-7(5) 6-3 6-4

R2 - P.HERCOG (SLO) def. A.RUS (NED)
6-7(4) 7-5 6-2

R2 - A.RUS (NED) def. S.PEER (ISR)
6-2 6-1

I'd say that's not bad at all for someone ranked outside the top100. IMO she COULD make the top70 definetly if she finds that consistancy. She still has time to grow on the big stage. She must be in confidence after her good week, Let's see if she can go far in midland.

a lot of players tank some matches and well, it wasn't probably a tank, Nicole was just not motivated as I know from my source, showed no emotions and now in Midland, she did, so it's an improvement for me, but as I can see, noone who is not a Nicole's fan can't really understand what improvement it's..

Sexysova didn't say that Nicole completly tanked that match. He said that maybe Nicole wasn't doing her best.

And I never thought that a WTA player could tank a match, but then I watched Nicole at Wimbledon 2008, against Stosur. Nicole tanked the second set (60) and it was so obvious that the 2 commentators were really shocked and they said that Nicole was unprofessional and that she should receive a fine for that.

The problem is unless she starts winning soon, she is likely to drop to around 300 once her Indian Wells and Miami points come off and further once another 60 points come off from the clay season. This is really Japan/Australia 25k territory, she won't get into many 25k main draws in Europe or the USA with that ranking. I very much doubt she will continue to get wild cards unless she does something at Memphis.

She really needs to have a word with Jelena Dokic or ALG - they faced similar horrors but managed to claw their way back into the top 100. The sad thing is that they have never managed to reclaim the glories of their top 20 days and one wonders whether Nicole will settle for being a top 75 player if she does get back in the top 100.
