I sent it out to a few but not everybody got it. :)Obviously, you may add 'Arnoldo,Mexico' to the list...and 'Leen' and 'Curtos' have reasonable requests to see a letter before signing it.

Also,if there are ANY Serbs here, even ONE,who are with us on this, then that would help somewhat,IMO.Part of our appeal is how proud Serbia has been of the success of Nole and Ana...so it'd be nice if we had at least one Serb on our list.If none of you Serbs in the forum feel comfortable with this, that's fine. We're not starting any clique wars here;it's just that a few of us fans are feeling desperate at how Ana seems to be getting worse and worse, possibly drifting away from tennis in her heart, and we're willing to do almost anything to rescue Ana from herself. If there ARE any Serbs who are with us on this, then please include your city of origin, too.Even if we don't have any HERE,Aaron might be able to find some in MTF in Nole's forum

Sorry, I was just kidding. I have no idea what the letter is about, but even a vicious hater like myself can't hate Ana when she's in a position like this. I went to those Fed Cup matches last weekend, and it was really painful to watch. Even I was yelling ''Ajde, bre, Ana'', but she looked as if she was in some kind of trance or something. If a letter can help her, feel free to put my sig down. ;)

Blah blah blah. Until you come up with a better idea (which involves more than just sitting on the forum bitching about Ana's slump all day), stop bitching about other people's.

You underestimate Nole heaps BTW. I think he has more respect for Ana than to just laugh off her fan's concern for her. There's no guarantees he'll talk of course but I'm sure he'd at least hear us out.

Where Curtis has this wrong is with the notion that it's a major waste of time.If we were translating the letter into Egyptian hieroglyphs, for some reason,then--YES--THAT would be a waste of time. However, the letter itself will be done before this weekend ends, and the entire plan doesn't require ANY strenuous,time-consuming effort. It simply boils down to whether it succeeds or fails and, since it's not really our responsibility to revive Ana's career,we won't bear any guilt if it DOES fail...and I'll feel slightly better knowing that I tried to exhaust every conceivable option.I'm comfortable with the idea that Ana:angel: is WORTH that effort to explore any possible avenue of rescue.

But don't you think Novak and Ana have already talked about her struggles? He's #2 and she's #23, a couple of years ago they were both top 3, I'm sure he's noticed and has been trying to support her and give advice.

Still a letter can do no harm, so good luck :)

Thanks :)That's a fair request;I haven't heard from Aaron(TV Tennis) since Mexico's Friday night(Saturday in New Zealand). The letter is finished, basically, but he might change 1 or 2 words here and there after getting some feedback. We discussed whether to post it in the open thread or PM it to people who wanted to read it.Either way, you'll have it within a week.

One thing I think you'll notice is that it's not harshly critical of Ana or anyone else--except APDP(and Nole might approve of that since he just split with the AdidASS-holes)--it merely focuses on the areas where Ana has struggled...and it pleads with Nole to persuade Ana to get a respected,successful,FULL-time coach...and STICK with him/her for a while. We also ask him to suggest a sports counsellor to help with her negative,self-destructive on-court thinking...someone who has worked with top athletes and won't make Ana's head spin with highly-subjective,Freudian crap.

At the suggestion of one poster I've changed one thing. Just changed the words "wise counsellor" in the final paragraph to "wise sports psychologist". ;) But I think we did a good job. So far I've PMed it to a few people, feedback's been go so far. ;)

Seems unlikely that this will have much of an impact, but i guess anything is worth a try at this stage! :(EXACTLY!!This wasn't some huge investment on our part, and we figured that Ana was worth the effort.Obviously,we can't offer any prospects of success, but our premise is no worse than somewhat logical:That Ana is surrounded by people who are either unwilling or unable to help her...and she's currently too deep in denial to proceed effectively. In THEORY,at least,a trusted friend could open her eyes and give her some courage to face her fears head-on
