Draw made for Play-offs
The draw for the Fed Cup by BNP Paribas World Group and World Group II Play-offs (24-25 April) took place in London on Wednesday.

Having sealed its spot in the World Group Play-offs with a narrow victory over Poland in Bydgoszcz, Belgium has been rewarded with a home tie against Estonia.

Sabine Appelmans, Belgium’s captain, will be hoping she has a full squad to choose from with Kim Clijsters, Justine Henin and Yanina Wickmayer all in the frame.

Estonia, meanwhile, is currently enjoying its best ever Fed Cup run and will vying to reach the reach the World Group for the first time. It booked a place in the Play-offs with a routine win over Argentina.

Australia will have a chance to return to the World Group for the first time since 2004 when it travels to Ukraine, where the Bondarenko sisters will likely lie in wait.

Germany and France lost in the World Group first round to Czech Republic and USA respectively. The two nations have met on five previous occasions, with the French currently holding a 3-2 advantage in their head-to-head count.

After being edged out by Russia at the weekend, Serbia will again play at home in the Play-offs against Slovak Republic. Both nations have two highly ranked players in their ranks – Jelena Jankovic and Ana Ivanovic for Serbia and Daniela Hantuchova and Dominika Cibulkova for Slovak Republic.

In the World Group II Play-offs, Poland plays Spain at home, Sweden hosts China, Canada welcomes Argentina, and Slovenia has a home tie against Japan.

Not so bad draw for Slovenia. :D
Home tie and choice of ground - but it will be interesting what we will choose - clay for Hercog or hard for Srebotnik. I think clay would be better choice. :)

Hantuchova loses to Jankovic
Hantuchova loses to Ivanovic (Ivanovic´s first win in long time probably :D )
Cibulkova beats Ivanovic
Cibulkova vs Jankovic crucial match. Slovakia wins the doubles

Hope they all will be healthy and playing

Im dead curious to see Hantuchova vs Ivanovic (on clay)

Daniela is hopeless on clay while Ivanovic is hopeless at playing tennis at all ( :secret: RG Champion though )

Cibulkova against Jankovic should be high quality on the other hand

am not sure this is going to be on clay.
still, cibulkova will fight like for her life, it will depend on hantuchova´s performance (in case she will play) - either a very good result or nothing (as we know her :-)).

Both Jankovic and Ivanovic are great on clay. The best surface of both. Plus it will be in clay season and they know how 'good' Daniela on clay is.

Pity Slovakia doesnt play at home

I don't like his comments. Spanish girls are always dangerous. They have three players in top 50 right now, so it's not that bad as he is saying. And if they decide to play this tie on clay then... :tape:

If Gisela can play this tie, Argentina its more favorite that Canada!

Even if Gisela can play it is very hard for Argentina to win, because other players are pretty young and unexperienced. I watched them playing in Estonia. There could be bright future for them, but at the moment I would say that Canada is a bit more favourite in my opinion. But still good luck for both teams and we will see what happens

There has been 17 teams before. If this happens, then three countries will be relegated to group II after 2011 zonal event.

Well you are the favourite , We dont know if Gisela will play and if she plays we have not a second player who can play well on fast courts , because i think Canada will choose to play on fast courts.

I don't put it past Gisela to not win 3 whole rubbers in Fed Cup, she's had a great year. Nothing's guaranteed.
