Feel a bit sorry for Cornet because she's really trying but she's just getting nowhere and it's evident she's playing with no confidence. The tears weren't far away either.

Peer just went for Cornet's forehand and it had the desired effect.

Good result for tennis. Now Shahar needs to work on her volleys -- they will never be great but maybe she'll be able to put them into the court at least.

this is almost just too funny. last year at this time i hated Cornet because she was playing so well, and she had just beaten Dani twice and she was on the verge of the top 10.
Nows she ranked like 65th and falling fast.
And I miss her...

with Cornet, I think it all came down to her choke on match point against Safina last year during their rd16 AO match :shrug: Cornet was playing the best of tennis of her life from clay season of 2008 until that match. After losing it, she kind of lost all her confidence and has been on a downward spiral ever since. Her failure in Fed Cup has also done a number on her mentally :sad: :shrug: She showed a bit of promise in the pre-AO events this year, but now she's back to looking hopeless and confused out on court.
