So basically WGII plays for a chance to comepete next year to get in WG1 the following year?

I don't know why Fed Cup isnt a round of 16 as it should be.

Highly doubt Venus will play. She is not going to be in the US just to go to Germany to play on clay the day after it's done. BUT then again, she has in 2005 done Wimbledon - Russia (clay) - Stanford (hard). So who knows. Gotta hope for Serena, but this isn't 2011:(

I hope Serbia vs. Estonia, then Serbia has huge chances.

What is Venus' schedule? Stuttgart?

I don't know, Serena seemed intent on playing in the FCF last year until she got injured so maybe she'll play if she's healthy. And maybe Venus will go too. When is this, in April? Aren't the Fed Cup Finals usually after Wimb?

She is playing Stuttgart supposedly, yes. Serena is playing Miami, Marbella and Charleston, so doubt she will want to play more with Fed Cup. April 25-26. SFs are not anymore after Wimbledon since 2008. The Final is in November.

Wrong.

The zonal winner must play one of the losers of the World group II.

So China, Poland, Argentina and Spain will play either Sweden, Slovenia, Canada or Japan.

Same goes for the World group playoff.

That is because World Group II losers have a higher ranking Zonal Group winners usually. The fourth ranked WW II loser has a large lead in rankings over the first ranked Zonal Group winner, this year.

Last time than all World Group II losers weren't seeded was in 2006 when World Group II losers Argentina and Thailand were having worse rankings than Zonal Group winners Canada and Slovak Republic.

And stop thinking than Canada will be easy!

I don't say easy but exciting. There was already Poland-Japan 3-2 (this time we would have to travel to Asia which is not good just before clay season in Europe), we won against Sweden 3-0 last year and somehow I wouldn't like Poland to have Slovenia. :p

I would prefer Argentina for the Canada. That would be in Canada since we went to Cordoba three years ago and that seems quite winnable even if Dulko plays. I don't want Poland because Radwanska is very strong. Anyways, if you draw Canada, there is 1/2 chance than this is in Canada, and I'm almost sure it would be on hard.
