Now Serbia needs a miracle.

Both Jankovic and Ivanovic aren't good doubles players, have no chemistry whatsoever together and they will face Kuznetsova (who's a former doubles Slam champion and has loads of other Slam finals) and Kleybanova (currently in the Top 10 on the doubles rankings).

I think we're all agreed that this is pretty sad now. Especially with only a couple of weeks until IW. :help:

They should try out Jankovic/Jovanovski then. Ajde Serbia.

I guess the ones who played singles.

Serbia has no other choice, while Russia has Dushevina who is decent at best, but Kuznetsova and Kleybanova are easily the better options for the doubles match.

Saw on another website that Dushevina and Palyuchenkova are playing the dubs....
Anyway, good win for Alisa. She really deserves one against a top player....if Ana is still considered one.

That's the "official" schedule. Obviously, at least Kuznetsova will play.

But considering, how "good" Ivanovic/Jankovic is, that Russian team would be enough for the win!

Ana   terrible to see her playing this way. Hopefully she'll find a way to work it all out soon. She's too good of a player to keep having these kinds of results.

Alisa :) :yeah: good turnaround considering her match yesterday. She began to get tight at 4-3 in the 2nd set but held on to her nerve and closed the match out nicely in the final game :)

Jose.

Yeah - and inside she must also feel she has let the side down. I do feel more sorry for Jelena though. I thought with her heroics that Serbia would win this tie. I don't think there's any chance they'll win the doubles.

Well with all four of the singles matches I think we can there is at least a very good chance Jankovic is back to her best form of 2007/8. Likewise we can say with even more confidence Ivanovic is most definately not back.

Very good rebound today by Kleybanova. She does surprise me a lot of the time with the balls she is able to get back in court. Of course her power is a constant but her volleys are becoming almost as good. Even if I have to admit I am not that crazy about her style of tennis I still think she is has become quite a remarkable player and she is a formidable opponent for practically everyone in the game these days.

I agree. It's really upsetting. Something clearly wrong with her psyche, and with each poor performance it can only get worse.

The fact that she keeps insisting that she's playing better shows real delusion ... and her coaching team is a joke. She needs out of the Adidas scheme.

 You'd be surprised. I'm not going to dig anything up but a lot of posters here were pointing to Ana's comeback and return to form.

Don't get me wrong, I hope she comes back b/c the tour is better with her playing well. However, I didn't think for a second she was back... the girl needs some serious help and maybe a long break accompanied by some sports psychology sessions.

I'm not a fan of Ana, but she needs to change/fix something ASAP. Whether it's her service toss or something more mental (probably mental) she needs to fix it soon.

I liked this match not only because of the outcome but because finally someone crushed GOAT Ivanovic's junk and duly punished her misguided bullshit net rushes with big passing shots.

I was also surprised at Kleybanova serving out the match so smoothly.
