Marta played so great tennis today:hearts:
Ok, there still where some silly moments by her, but she really was able to win this today, so I'm a bit  now.
Anyway, 7 Ace's and many beautiful winners should still give her some self-confidence.:cheer:

Tomorow then she can def. win against Flipkens:rocker2::cheer::rocker2:

Marta:smooch:

I'm glad Yanina was able to pull through after that first set.

Marta really surprised with her game today, she definitely played better than what you'd suspect from her results.

Well done to Marta for fighting! It was really close in the 3rd and Marta had multiple opportunities to break Yanina and level the match.
Hope she can bit Flipkens tomorrow

Congratulations Yanina. Well played Marta, shame you could not pull this one through. Is it me, or did Yanina look really spent at the end of the match?

Marta had her chances in the third set but overall it was Yanina who was clearly a better player. She was in control of the match. It is sad but no-one really believed Marta will win this match even after the first set. :sobbing:

From what I saw today Yanina seems to be very nice girl. She was very calm. They called her four foot-faults. Some fans were cheering when she made double faults. :tape: They were booing her couple of times. I was so embarassed. :o

You don't have to be embarassed. This is normal for Fed Cup matches.

It's not normal to scream that she's a doping cheater, really.

C'mon man, Fed Cup is a specific tournament and everybody can scream what he wants from the stands. Haven't you ever watched Davis Cup? If you looked e.g. Davis Cup 2008 Final (Argentina vs Spain) the atmosphere was more like a football match than a tennis tie.

Adrian.
Feb 6th, 2010, 06:38 PM
BTW, she is a kind of doping cheater:shrug:
So, I don't see a problem there+like Angelescu said, it's normal for Fed Cup:shrug:

And if you're talking about calling footfault - if she did it, why not call it? I know all those linesmen on person, they are professional - I would give my head if they did it on purpose to help Domachowska.

I'm okay with making noise. But really no tolerance for rude behaviour.

It seems Yanina needs some time to find her game when she begins a tournament. 1st matches are often tougher than expected.

Well, calling 4 foot faults in a match is pretty uncommon. Try doing this when it's Serena Williams on the court .

Btw, reading this thread, I'm still :o at some reactions. Yanina is NOT a doping cheater. If Polish fans find it funny to scream such things, it is rude and extremely stupid. 'WADA rocks'... yeah adner, that was funny :help:. Need to grow up, for sure.
Nice words from LoLex though.

by the way, marta was also called on foot fault! The serve also touched the net and went wide :) the perfect example of how not to serve ;)

^^
i agree with Bennyko. some polish fans are a real embarrassment when it comes to this case. hardly enough i can actually understand Radwanska for her comments, as she didn't know the whole story. but for those who are aware of the facts, and still dare to say that she's a dope cheater I have no words. It's beyond stupid. There is one particular polish poster who masters in this. I won't even try to remember his nickname, he has a pic of a hideous girl is his avy though

Well, the national federation always stressed to call a foot fault always when we see it so:p I do it myself even at the end of important matches:devil:
