View Full Version : When will YOU be truly satisfied with what your fav player has achieved?

As a Maria fan, despite the injury and everything, I won't be truly satisfied until she wins the French, Miami and, perhaps, the Olympics. I know it's a lot to ask, but if she accomplishes those 3 titles, she'll have the whole DVD boxset. You know what I mean?

What about you? What will your favourite player have to do in order to make you truly satisfied with their career?

First of all, I'm very satisfied with Maria's career thus far, but hooking up with Gordon Gekko's "greed is good" style I'll say two more slams :cheer:

I've gotten over Maria's clay demons and don't really think she'll win FO unless she gets a cakewalk draw somehow (then again losing to Dulko in Wimbledon makes all those predictions hogwash  ), but if she wins US Open and Wimbledon one more time I'll go mad :bounce:

I will be satisfied simply if she plays another match. :help::tape:

As for Venus, I want 3 more Wimbledons and a US Open. And also to win the Doubles Grand Slam with Serena.

Serena can get to 15+ slams please. And ditto to Venus.

Maria K to make the top 15 at least and win a couple of premier titles, maybe even a premier 5.

Sorana top 5 please :inlove:. Or at least top 8.

Jelena Dokic to make it back into the top 40. Maybe a WTA title.

Keothavong top 40 and at least one WTA title.

Cavaday top 50. Wimbledon R4.

Maria- If she wins either 3 more slams before the end of her career (if she plays it out fully), or if she were to fizzle away soon I'd only be okay with that if she won FO (which otherwise I don't care that much about).

My fav is Barbie Zahlavova. I am already fully satisfied with the amount of screaming, whining, racquet throwing and complaining plus the amount of scrambling, pushing and drop shots she has achieved in her career. But I wouldnt mind some more of the same!

I'm already satisfied, but.. I'd be happy if:

Dokic enjoyed herself on the court, felt like a part of the tour again. Won another WTA title before her career finished.

Dementieva won a slam.

Golovin made a successful comeback to the Top 20, won another title or two.

When half of the members of this forum have committed suicide because Caro has won a slam. :p

Realistically, as long as she gives it a 100% I won't complain. Try to stay in the top 10, win a few tournaments and get to the last eight in the slams on most occasions. Anything more than that would be a huge bonus. :)

Im happy with Maria and what she has done so far. I would love for her to win the French Open.

I hope Vika can win a grand slam, and get the number one ranking. And I will be satisfied.

Venus to
-Win the YEC in Doubles and to get to #1 even just for a week in doubles
-Win Wimbledon and US Open Mixed.
-The Grand Slam in Doubles with Serena.
-Now what I really wanted for her was to win each slam one more time, but that's looking grim, so for me to be "satisfied" I'd love for Venus to hit double digits, preferably doing so by winning another USO.
-Continue to do her best at each event.

Oh, but I am already satisfied, so this will just make me happier.

Serena - The angel on my left shoulder says, "When she wins the FO to round off her 2/per title count."
However, the devil on my right shoulder says, "F**k the French! One's enough in that dust bowl. She only needs another Wimbledon and US Open to make me complely happy."

Venus - When she becomes chairman and CEO of the WTA. :D

Serena: win the French at least one more time (but I'll be happy if she doesn't do that) and leave the tour with at least 16 or 17 grand slam titles.

I won't be 100% satisfied until Elena Dementieva finally breaks her Grand Slam jinx.
She's just too talented and been at the top for so long to end her career without having won at least one.
I'd also like to see her win Paris, Charleston and to win a 2nd title in Moscow. I really hope that she plays there this year.

A 2nd slam final would be really nice for Marion. I really want her to finish another season inside the top 10.

For Su-wei, Grand Slam doubles title please, you have the potential everything just has to come toghether.

For Kata, the injury has really hindered your career, if you can get back to the top 30 i will be very happy.

For Nathalie and Ai, live happy lives

She actually still has a lot to do and the French and OG are quite problematic :scared:
But it gives us some excitement as to whether these things will happen I suppose.

Mind you, I will be satisfied with her career if she doesn't win the FO again or get the Olympics - I do really want her to get those mixed doubles slams though, I would be crushed if she didn't quite manage it.

I don't get into all this chicken little the sky is falling crap every time Venus or Serena lose a match or play like crap because they've already been to the mountain top and no one can take their accomplishments away from them.

Now Chris Evert needs to win one more slam and Anna K. still needs to win a damn tournament.

Serena: Win 3 more Australian opens! Win 2 more French Opens! Win 2 to 3 more Wimbledon's! Win 2 to 3 more U.S. Opens. Win doubles grand slam( Could 2010 be that year?)

Venus: Win at least one French and Australian Open titles. 5 more Wimbledon's lol( actually 2 more would make me happy). When the U.S. Open at least once more maybe in the same year she wins her next Wimbledon! Complete doubles grand slam with her baby sis!

Nicole V.: Get her ass back in shape and get to the top 5 where she was heading in the first place. To win at least one of each slam before she has that monsters(Stepanek) babies!

Alisa Kleybanova: first off get in shape to finally start beating the top players. To be a top 5 player in the next 2 years and win a slam!

Golovin: to come back and win a slam she has that much potential 4 real!

Sania has inpisred my life..i wud be really happy, if she wins her first grand slam at Wimbledon, i know that's difficult to happen, but her game is tailor made for grass..if all izz well..then she can definitely can crack a Wimbledon..bur for that she'll have to overcome likes of Williamses (big servers, she can't handle them) and Kim, Justine, JJ, and Wozniacki, Vika n all..

winning Wimbledon has been her mom's biggest dream for her and it's her own dream too...and it's my personal dream for her as well

for me it's all all about agi's confidence and playing to her full potential which is being in the top ten. i'll be truly satisfied when she starts getting to the qtrs or semi's at slams on a regular basis. i know she can do it but i know as her fan that agi struggles with ehr confidence. she's a dangerous player and just needs to believe that EVERY time she goes on court. agi

I'd like to see Lena:

* hit 300 weeks in the Top 10 (basically a done deal)
* hit 500 weeks in the Top 20 (also basically a done deal)
* reach 500 WTA wins (barring catastrophic injury, she should do this)
* EITHER win a slam or reach #1 (and at this point I'll take a doubles slam, frankly)
* reach 20 tournament wins

Interestingly, there are more slam winners than there are players with 20 tour wins.

Although in fairness to Lena, none of these really move the needle for her all that much. She's pretty much going to be one of the "near-greats" of her era, barring some unholy rampage where she tears off 5 or 6 slams and most of her competition stands still.

Sharapova - I truly think and hope that Maria can get a lot more than the French open :o despite her recent performance slightly indicating the contrary.
Anyway what I'd like is for Maria to have 7+ GS some Masters titles and most important for me a year, two or more as n°1 - thing she has never accomplished yet. I'm sure Maria has some more USO and AO to pull up but the absolute dream for me would be to see her lift the Wimbldeon trophey once again.

Azarenka - It'ld be great if Vika could win 1-2 GS in the immediate future and couple of Masters series until when Justine/Clijters/Venus and maybe Serena retires and she can really start dominating the circuit with Maria.
