This is one of many examples of how tennis is unpopular in Poland. Fed Cup Poland-Belgium meeting will be broadcast in TVP Sport (sports channel which belong to polish public broadcaster) - available only on very few cable networks and digital platforms - while their main channel TVP1 will broadcast World Cup in Willingen in ski jumping. C'mon, ski jumping is every week while tournament in Poland is a rare stuff. I must watch tennis via livestream if it will be as I don't own this f*cking TVP Sport.:o

Do ski jumpers ski with poles? If so, there's your answer.

C'mon, they jump every week and Adam Małysz won't start in Willingen. Only one Pole, not very famous one - qualified. :o

Good decsision

With Aga Radwanska on TV tennis will not gain fans

Is there really a need for all your hurtful comments? If you don't have anything good to say about someone, why not just stay quiet? Radwanksa won't go away just because you hate her. As a matter of fact she's been in the top 20 for quite some time now, there's probably a reason for that.

Maybe the Poles don't even know that they have a player in the top 10 of the WTA ranking :spit:

winter sports suck.

But don't worry, now that global warming is on the way,the snow will melt and these awful sports will vanish for good.

No, we have courts like.. everywhere. Really, lots of people play tennis here. It's just the media that doesn't do anything to promote it. But even without it I don't think it's that bad.

Same  Thought what a cool idea/promo thing that would be

Maybe they should do it, they could combine showing the tennis & the skijumping at the same time then & kill 2 birds with 1 stone ;)

Don't despair. As little as 12 zloty will buy you access to sport.tvp.pl :)

could you post a link? I can't find anything at their main page

Ok. I found it. You have to register and then choose "oplata techniczna" from your profile's menu. The problem is when I click it, nothing happens. Anyone tried that?

Really must suck
In Greece they showed the Davis Cup E/A GII relegation play-off in 2008 on TV with a depleted Greece team missing our top 6 players (!!!) and Poland is in the WG II and they don't even get a spot on TV :o

Btw, I was in Greece at the time and the one time I could see Greece in Davis Cup, I had the times messed up and it was already over when I turned on the TV :sobbing::p

Currently in Poland tennis won't get any live coverage on national TV no matter what. Ski jumping has taken this spot some eight years ago and until Malysz retires (which I hope will happen very soon) this won't change. We don't even get Grand Slam finals here anymore on TVP and but for the Warsaw Open tennis would be a complete no show. At least Fed Cup comes right before the Olympics, one week later and Vancouver would be all over TVP Sport.

 I did register and I paid for access yesterday, it worked. Sorry to hear it doesn't now, what a pain. Have you tried contacting them? Or, come to think of it, maybe try logging in using a different browser? It worked for me on firefox, if it helps.
Once you click 'oplata techniczna' you should see a number of different methods of payment you can use, as far as I can remember.
Good luck!

It works in the UK... I don't remember if Pay Pal was there in the list, sorry. But it looks like the old fromsport will help with a stream anyway :)

OK, I am taking it all back.
It DOES NOT work in the UK. Which you find out only when the live transmission starts - thanks TVP Sport, well done. Keep my 12 zloty, you obviously need it

I had the same. But I went to the tvp.pl (instead of sport.tvp.pl) and could pay there. Still, can't watch it as it's 'unavailable in my country...)
