Does she have a history of withdrawing from tournaments or something? This is so unexpected.

The bad thing about this is her ranking has dropped enough that she will either have to go through qualies or ITF. Bur scheduling has never been her strong suit.

Dubai Q starts the same week as Pattaya on Friday.

Jelena you just can't help yourself. It could be something to do with Dubai qualies being on the friday but I doubt it and really Pattaya should have been a priority over Dubai anyway. Expect a withdrawal next week...probably Thursday! that being her favorite day to withdraw.

As if she'd still be in the tournament by Friday. :spit:

I don't know why she has withdrawn but this is obviously a bad sign. The way she was playing in Australia, the Pattaya City tournament was vital for her and should be more important than Dubai qualies.

I know. She's just unbelievable.

"The goal now is to try to get my ranking up straight away.
The plan is to play in Thailand, Dubai and Kuala Lumpur..."

I would say the (real) plan is to withdraw from them all, one by one...

I wouldn't be surprised if shes had a recurrence of mononucleosis, would be just Jelenas luck that I mean she's due for yet another setback.

It's one thing seeing Jelena on an entry list and then her withdrawing, but she actually told the media that she intended to play Pattaya. I wasn't expecting it this time round.

Not particularly surprising, considering how often Dokic withdraws from events...Too bad really, because she plays so much better when she has the matches under her belt...
