I was wondering how many people on TF read this blog:

http://cowbell.typepad.com/

I really think it's brilliant. It's the only tennis blog I bother to read on a regular basis.

Hmm...?

Seems like an interesting Blog. However, and unfortunately, he keeps reminding his readers, IN-CES-SANT-LY that he's not a Serena fan. I suppose the 8th time that he reminded me of this turned me off to the Blog as a whole.
Some captions and observations were humorous though. :)

^ The writer is a woman by the way, just saying.

I personally love the blog, doesn't take stuff too seriously but is a knowledgeable enough fan & not psycho-crazy for one particular player or anything so has a pretty wide spread of coverage of players/views etc. She isn't particularly a fan of my faves but I like her view of tennis as a whole & love her sense of humour (which you definitely have to have before you read most of the posts ;) ). Probably not for everyone, particularly anyone who is easily riled by someone writing something in jest about their fave, but I like it. The podcasts are great too :D

Read it occasionally, overall pretty amusing :yeah: (not so much when she disses my favs)

 at the number of comments at the Cowbell.

Off the Baseline did this better (and was thorough to the point of OCD), yet nobody read it. Go figure.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Just take anything she says about your faves with a pinch of salt.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Just take anything she says about your faves with a pinch of salt.

I read it regularly. Yeah, I cringe at some of the stuff she writes about Serena (a bit too personal), but then you just to wait until one of her faves lose and she goes apeshit(In a funny sarcastic way). I almost feel bad for JJ.

Having said that, now that the whole "whyisDinaraSafina#1thing'sover," she's gotten off Serena's back substantially. She even came to Serena's defence on this whole shit showhttp://cowbell.typepad.com/forty_deuce/2009/07/ok-now-were-just-throwing-that-word-around-willy-nilly.html.

Bottom line is it a hilarious blog that has grest pictures and a lot of snark all the way around. What other(well written)tennis blog openly calls Roger Federer an "asshole" in a congratulatory (He's a GOAT) way?

I also like: http://craighickmanontennis.blogspot.com/. I like the analysis there too.

This blog is the best! The funniest blog that will always bring a smile on your face, even though your fave loses... (or wins :P depends for who you root, and who does the author of the blog like / hate).

She's alright but I can't read the crap she writes about Ivanovic, because I don't understand why someone would dislike Serena and then support someone like Ana...doesn't make sense.
And Andy Murray is annoying.

Read it again, Ana and Serena have similar characteristics (off court) at times and I find it weird that she wouldn't like one and then like the other.
I've read a lot of her blog, love it bar her being an Ana fan;)

Well you always have people saying that Serena is arrogant, questionable sportsmenship and generally a bit of a diva.
I tend to think Ana fits those pretty well, probably more of an on court persona than off court, my bad.

Seriously, do you have a clue what you are talking about? Ana is arrogant? How? She is probably the most humble and gracious player in the WTA. She is the exact opposite of being arrogant. I never in my life heard someone called her arrogant ever. I have no clue what you are talking.

Bad sportsmanship? So then why did her peers voted her for the 2008 WTA sportsmanship award? She is one of the classiest players in the WTA.

Diva? The reason why Ana is so popular is because she is not a diva like many of the other players. How is she a Diva? Give me one examply of how she is a diva.

What world are you living in? Saying Ana is a arrogant, diva is like saying it's night during the middle of a sunny day.

It was addressed to people who wouldn't read a blog because the blogger isn't a fan of their faves.Firstly, it doesn't matter to me what YOU think. The question wasn't about YOU. And it wasn't about ME. The question was about a Blog.

Did you even read the thread title?

Your opinion of others makes no sense anyway.
It's like asking a Henin fan if they read Serena's Blogs.
Or a Serena fan, if they read Henin's Blogs.

Why the @&*! would they, if their fave is vilified?

In the future, you may want to reserve your pissy comments for those who give a s$!t.

The nerve of some people.

In reality, if you're going to be homophobic and immature, at least have the decent tennis to back up your sh*tty character!

WTF? I don't know how defending my favorite player is homophobic and immature, but whatever. Since you're resorting to personnal attacks, I think it's a good idea to end this as well.

let me preface by saying i'm not an ana fan, but are you calling her homophobic based on an interview where she says she prefers men? (paraphrasing) or do you know something more?

and if i recall, martina is/was a homophobe right?

She says she prefers men after saying she's allergic to women and that she can't even stand friends kissing her on the cheek.Like really, it was over the top.

and if i recall, martina is/was a homophobe right?
Well that's the reaction, I found her comments more distasteful and attacking Amelie herself for her appearance rather than homosexuality in general.
I'm aware of the little sh*t Martina was when she was younger, but it wasn't as generalised as Ana's.
Perhaps Ana will redeem herself but as lately she hasn't.

I'll reilliterate her behaviour on court (cheering after every mistake and blaming linespeople for bad calls when she hits out) just adds to her for me.
