After a very promising start of the year, here are the players I look forward to seeing more. Win or lose, they are exciting to watch:

Serena, Justine, Azarenka, Wickmayer, Safarova, Lisicki

Then, pretty much everyone else is boring:

- The Russians, after all those years, remain one-dimensional ground-strokers.

- Wozniacki, Radwanska, and the Chinese are pushers and grinders.

- Sharapova is ball basher gone wild (out).

- Ivanovic, Hantuchova, etc., have lost their way. Completely painful to watch.

- Jankovic has reduced herself to an annoying whiner.

- Bartoli is weird. Clijsters is a fake. I cannot stand watching them.

- Venus doesn't seem to care anymore

What do you think? Are there any other exciting players that I overlooked?

There are so many players way off form.
Ivanovic, Sharapova, Jankovic, Safina
Those were all #1 at some point, and now no one even expects anything.
There is some depth if most of the more accomplished players find some of their old form

This is who I think gets a pass after Australia.

Serena (loss to Dementieva)
Henin (losses to Clijsters, Serena)
Azarenka (losses to Dementieva, Serena)
Wickmayer (loss to Henin)
Dementieva (loss to Henin)

~Na (losses to Serena, Kanepi, Pennetta)
~Clijsters (loss to Petrova)

Petrova, despite playing well, again showed her :weirdo:ness against Henin
Zheng was lucky to make the SF, the thumping there was evidence enough.
Kirilenko was lucky to make the QF, the thumping there was evidence enough.
Venus lost that QF, after serving for it. I don't see any work there.
Wozniacki, Jankovic, Sharapova, Kuznetsova and Ivanovic all under performed.

Maria was injured and completely worn out.:rolleyes:

And Venus is Venus. Doesn't mean that she won't play good tennis in the future.

What is this? A thread basically created for the thread starter to tell us who they find exciting eg. who their faves are? :rolls:

Oh, why don't we all start a thread to let everyone know who our faves are. :bounce:
