For the last 4 slams, Serena has won the Aussie open in odd years only.

But is appears this, year Serena was determined to put an end to that.
The incident at The 09 USO put a a special urgency to this.
She needed to do some repair of her public image, this goes a long way to do that.

Now, next year, what type of Serena will we see?

Notable Results:
Serena finished with 65 grand total number of aces.

I knew if she was ever going to break the pattern of only winning the AO in odd years, 2010 would be the year. There's no question that she was extra motivated by the '09 USO incident.

I'm SO glad she's made up for that us open debacle. SO glad.

At the beginning of the year I didn´t think Serena would break that pattern anytime soon, so I predicted her to win next year...

But now I really don´t know if she´ll win it again... and this definetely doesn´t help Masha, who probably won´t win Roland Garros in 2010! :sobbing:

So am I.

Also I am glad that Marry Carillo did not get her way of banning Serena at the Aussie Open.
One thing I failed to understand nonetheless, is that she decides to be commentator on Serena matches.

A professional with integrity would have turned it down to protest what she obviously viewed as a travesty in the way the rules were administered.
And she still continued to criticise her here at the Aussie open but saw no discrepancy or conflict between
her position and sitting in the studio and commenting on Serena's matches.

Carillo and some others who wanted her ban for AO were mostly afraid of her ability to win. They figured that was the only sure way they would stop her from winning the title. Their worse nightmares have been realized.;)
