Sorry if I missed your fave, but I thought these were the best quality or most intriguing.

Multiple choice if you can't decide.

My faves were Henin-Wickmayer and Serena-Azarenka, because those matches gave me some hope for the new generation. They were fierce.

For sure Henin def. Dementieva. That was the highest quality match.

I voted wrong, i thought it was best performance.
I voted Nadia Petrova vs. Clijsters
but i would have voted Azarenka & Serena for quality.

serena azarenka overall, but dementieva henin was so good...

Serena - Henin, despite only 1st set is highly competitive.

2nd best is Henin - Dementieva... but that is 2nd round two-setter.

Most overhyped match is Serena - Azarenka... which is similar type of match with Azarenka - Zvonareva with one-seeded performances in both half of match.

#3 is Wickmayer - Henin and #4 Henin - Petrova IMO.

Yes, but still a marquee matchup.

Wickmayer/Henin 1st for me. :yeah:

Didn't see Dementieva/Henin

Thought Kirilenko/Sharapova was great too.

On the outcome alone and because I'm biased Kirilenko/Sharapova  but overall Serena/Azarenka.

Serena/Azarenka no doubt ,I was so impressed by the level of the two players , far more winners than UES .

Azaranka vs Rena was full with ups and downs and it was all about Serena. So I think that Lena vs Henin clash was the best of the tourney - steady performance from both, with some unique rallies and most importantly there was sth which has not been seen for a long time on the WTA, I mean that both girls were going to the net and winning many points there.

Henin-Wickmayer was the best... Wickmayer played really well...

Henin-Dementieva is so overhyped IMO

li def venus

really had drama!I can appreciate a poor quality match can be good to watch if there's lots of drama, but geez, this match had some of the poorest tennis I've ever seen!

Lena has been on the losing end of one of the matches of the tournament in her last 3 slams: against Serena at Wimbledon-the match of the tournament, against Oudin in New York in the upset of the tournament and against Henin in one of the most dramatic and intense matches in Melbourne:fiery::fiery::tape::tape:
If she can find a way to sneak these kind of matches out then I'll be happy. Elena going down fighting in epics is little consolation to her tortured fans.

Serena and Azarenka was just :worship: Amazing tennis!

Serena def Azarenka was the best I think. Then probably Serena def Henin. Those were good matches with emotions and quality shots and play.

Petrova def Kim and Kirilenko def Sharapova were good matches too, but one of the players weren't playing at their best so it was kinda painfl to watch, wouldn't say they were the best.

Dementieva vs henin (a potential gs final in the start of week 1, text book tennis by 2 of the sports pro in the world)

Errani vs Wickmayer (3rd round), great physical match, lots of rallies, change of momentum, not for the weakest

Jankovic vs Niculescu (1st round), every time niculescu on court, its a must see, so fun to watch

Sprem vs Dellacqua (2nd round), great grinding by both players

Wozniacki vs Na Li (1/8 round), just a work of art, between two hard workers, just brillant

Serena vs Azarenka (QF round), azarenka was the only one that really push serena to the limit, serena determination was the difference, serena wasnt better that azarenka but simply out gutting her at the end

Na Li vs Venus (QF round), Venus surprised me how she hang on in this matchup, Na Li controled the points from start to finish, great showing to what's next for her, Her run to top 5 player is on!

Slamniacki
Jan 31st, 2010, 04:03 PM
Kirilenko - Sharapova
Dulko - Ivanovič

The worst matchup by the way was kirilenko vs Sharapova, it looks like kirilenko was playing a out of shape 13 year old with a old lady loud voice

I think you adequately analysed maybe one of those matches. All the rest are 100% just plain wrong.

I REALLY hope you were joking.

Not really the best match, but I think Henin-Kleybanova deserves a mention too. A fun match-up, and I find Kleybanova very entertaining when her game clicks.

Errani vs Wickmayer (3rd round), great physical match, lots of rallies, change of momentum, not for the weakest
A bit of a wreck because of the rain and Wickmayer's looming injury, but I liked it as well. Errani deserves a lot of credit for her play in the second set.

It's definitely SERENA vs AZARENKA.
Justine was lucky she wasn't in Azarenka's part of the draw.

youre a joke, not these great matches. Its not my fault if you dont see the value of these less publicity matchups. You have to see tennis matches other than the ball bashers boring exhibition. Lots of the best matchups in a tourney are shown in the little court. Go see some real live tennis, and come back after, try to keep up or leave your stupid thoughts in your little head:wavey:

Henin vs. Dementieva, the best match hands down. High quality from beginning to end, no mental collapse at any point in the match.
