Against a player who played her only her second tournament after a two-year break.

That is your answer? The original person is one of those people who hate Serena's fans? If you wanted to attack the original poster, go ahead, but you seem to have some insight into all those "people." I just wondered if you could back up your statement. I guess not.

Are you delusional or something? Do you feel like you did something today to 1. speak for an entire race and 2. put yourself in group with Serena. Lets get real, this is Serena's party and has been for awhile, and no you are not invited. I don't hate you, I just would rather have someone less crazy speak for my race.

Why can't she be a role-model to young american tennis players and not just in the african-american community ?

I understand that the black community is proud of her. Fought her way out of the ghetto, winning in a sport which was dominated by blonde white gals until then.
An extremely good tennis player.
But not a great role model for the general public. Too many character flaws. Sadly.

Well here's the thing, who said she has to be a role model. I mean anyone who has met her in real life knows she is a huge diva bitch but I don't really care about that. All I care about is how someone plays on the court and there she is exceptional, apart from her threatening to kill a line judge.

Statistically moms and dads are only average.
So if everybody has only mom and dad as role-model we all will stay average. On average.

Ok sorry let me clear that one up. She is exceptional with her play on the court, as she proved tonight and in the previous 11 slams she won. Where she isn't great is the type of person she is off the court, but I don't care about that because I watch her on the court and that's where it ends.
