What a great display from Vika. :hearts: :hearts: I wonder if she hasn't broken her ace record in that match ? :hearts: I'm really seeing the evolution on that shot just incredible looks as if she can now bail herself out of trouble with some aces or get lots of free points. If she keeps that up and with her amazing ballstriking and great mouvement we can dream.

Up until 5-2 and MP second set she was pretty flawless again yeah but she had a small blip which allowed Jovanovski to take the next 2 games. Jovanovski did play really well though but Vika was just not giving her anything until that point. I'm starting to think grass is her best surface with how well she's been playing on it this year and last.

Kvitova's not the best of movers either and has some difficulty hitting shots when on the run, so Vika should have the edge in the longer rallies if there are many and should be a lot more solid.

Well that was awful after the first 8 games from Vika :help: Right from the beginning of the match she was far too negative with her serve and allowed Kvitova to dictate too much during the points whilst making too many cheap UE's. A really strange performance after the first 2 rounds  and another golden opportunity for a first slam SF blown. Credit to Kvitova who played probably the match of her life.

No more Vika now until the beginning of August in San Diego

She usually plays her best after long breaks but this is not the same Vika as last year :o Hopefully she comes back in a not too distant future.

Vika can't play well when she has good draws :o She finds her best game when Serena is waiting in the next round, but if she can face lower ranked opponents and players she has positive H2H's against, she decides to fuck it up.

Can someone explain to me what the hell just happened? I mean seriously, how does she go from playing great, the best she's played since the beginning of the season to this?! It's like this match was a perfect way to describe her entire season. Starts really well and then fail.

I want to blame her knees, I really do, but at this point something isn't working. She needs to get healthy, she needs to also re-evaluate her coaching situation at this point.

I don't think I've ever been so disgusted after a tennis match before.
How the hell do you go from 5-2 to 5-7 0-6 against someone like Kvitova? Especially after the way she played in the two previous rounds...

I didn't watch it though, I only followed the score.
So I guess my question is: did she look hampered by her knees in any way today?

Is she going to skip the post-match press conference for the second grand slam in a row? :tape:

I don't think the knees were even a factor in this match - her movemment seemed fine to me. The biggest problem as i said was she was back to just puffballing her first serve in down the middle of the service box at under 100mph and Kvitova was returning really well all match and getting the first big strike in all the time after midway through the first set. Vika made a few UE's as the match began to get away from her but i don't think Kvitova would have played a better match in her life than this one, she was just hitting winner after winner and not missing anything and she served really well all match.

She needs to keep working on her serve.

She also needs to work on opening up the court with short angles.

I don't think it's really fair to blame her coach just yet because Vika hasn't been fully fit since her match with Clijster's in Miami and she began the season playing really well up until then. Her coach has done a good job calming her down on court and has also worked on her volleying which will help her a lot in the long run. The serve does need work though, i just don't understand her logic today of going back to just starting rallies with it when it'd been a big weapon for her in the first 2 rounds :(

If she doesn't have any deep runs until the end of the season from now on then it may be time to question her team, but I have faith because she is a fighter and will work hard to get back up into the top 10 being the perfectionist that she is

I don't understand it either.
Like I said, I didn't see the match, but reverting to that lame powder puff serve that has already cost her so many matches in the past just doesn't make sense.
Why would she change a winning tactic unless she felt physically unable to serve like in her previous matches?

The Court 2 curse has been forced to move to court 18.

I'm sort of playing devil's advocate but what if her knees were the reason she went back to the powerpuff serve. It seems incredible odd that she'd stop going for her shots, especially her serve, against an opponent you can force into making errors, it just doesn't add up. The only other thing I could think off is that she thought she could play conservative and wait for Petra to make errors, errors that never came today. But playing safe isn't Vika's game style at all so that doesn't make any sense either. I guess we can just write it off as Petra playing the match of her life.

I'm not convinced that Samyuk is the best coach for Vika, there's just something about him that bothers me. I hope it works, I truly do because I want Vika to be the best player she can be in her career, but if these results don't improve then something's got to change.

I agree but I don't think it has to specifically be short angles but just more angles. I think the fact that she's rallying so much with the powerful opponents constantly in the long diagonal doesn't always benifit her because that puts them in a rhythm.

Vika in the 2nd set really gave Petra too much of the same shots in the same zone, deep center or long diagonal. At 4-0 I observed that she timidly started to redirect the shots and use a little more angles but it was just too late when she had lost all confidence.

She tweeted! She says Petra just outplayed her today.

I think Vika has let herself become too reliant on opponent's errors. Under pressure she reverts to a high-percentage game designed to let the opponent self-destruct- tries to spin the first serve in, tries to rally consistently without much variation (to minimise her own errors). It's a worrying trend, considering that when she came out of the juniors it looked like she could develop her serve into a weapon. If the opponent is self-destructing this is fine, but she needs to recognise when this plan is not working, and she needs to be able to take charge of big points- but it's been a long time since she did that consistently now. I think it all started when she began spinning the first serve in. Maybe she's spending too much time with Caro... Although Caro's actually trying to serve harder now, and she can't really blame anyone apart from herself.

Looks like it will be the same outfit for almost the whole season...

I hope losing early here will at least give her a chance to rest her knees properly.

Yesterday was a bit like the last two weeks never happened. Petra played well but that's only part of the story, in the last two weeks Vika had come up against in form opponents like Clijsters and Bartoli and was still able to dominate them using agressive serving and return-of-serve. Yesterday she was never fully able to get to grips with Petra's lefty serve, but she was able to hold onto her break in the first set with good serving of her own. When she served those two double faults to lose the break at 5-4 she suddenly lost all confidence in the first serve and went back to the old ways

That's interesting and unfortunate to hear. I didn't get to see the match- the local coverage only showed the last point. I'm hoping someone will post it on megaupload so I can see it myself, but I believe you that she went back to her more passive habits after failing to serve out the set.

Well there's nothing really bad in Vika rallying consistently it's just that when she does it her balls comes almost perfect for the ballbashers with lenght, some power and the height just how they like it and worst they don't even need to move to bash since the ball is eternally coming directly back to them.

I know it's hard for her after so many years of spinning her serve in to suddenly consistently hit through it but if she doesn't understand that she needs a better serve and to stop reverting under pressure well these types of losses aginst these types of players will occur more often than not.

When you play high percentage play you've got to have the variations to always keep the opponent off balance a little like how Murray does and maybe Caro and she's far from those standards moreover her movement, IDK maybe over frequenting Caro makes her think she's Caro but she should stop thinking that she's some Shelly-Ann Fraser or something. Vika can do some little defenses here and there but that's it.

The knee injury maybe made her lost confidence so the USO series and the USO will give the truth after she takes a good rest. IMO Decoturf is the perfect surface for Vika before Plexicushion, things goes very fast, her flat strokes and execution speed will advantage her so we'll see.

Looks like it will be the same outfit for almost the whole season...

I hope losing early here will at least give her a chance to rest her knees properly.

You know, the idea of playing conservative isn't a bad one, but Vika goes from being aggressive to being being a pusher. She has a middle game but seldom uses it. She can hit consistant, deep, and hit "safe angles" that aren't high risk but still aggressive enough to keep her in the point but also allowing her to stay the aggressor. Vika is built to play first strike tennis, and she was doing that last year, earlier this year, and last week in Eastbourne. Why she regressed yesterday, I'm not sure, maybe because she was hoping Petra would start to miss.

I just hope her little time away will allow her proper time to rest her knees too, and practice.

Yes I agree, it's not bad, except when she plays her opponent into a rhythm of smacking the ball.

I know it's hard for her after so many years of spinning her serve in to suddenly consistently hit through it but if she doesn't understand that she needs a better serve and to stop reverting under pressure well these types of losses aginst these types of players will occur more often than not.

You are right. I think she will not be a true elite player unless her service prowess under pressure improves a lot. I've seen her too many times revert to spinning the serve in, and still doublefaulting on big points. She has avoided feeling the pressure of hitting second serves by getting a lot of first serves in safely, so now when the pressure is on and she has to hit a second serve, she often can't. Hence the poor serving when serving for the first set against Petra.

Yes. It's actually relatively easy to break the rhythm of most wta ballbashers. Caro does it and it's not like she has anything like Murray's level of variation. For Vika just a small amount of variation should be sufficient against most ball-bashers- just be able to tweak the game slightly if the opponent finds too good a rhythm. At the moment it seems if the opponent hits form there is nothing she can do about it.

I don't think she needs to have Murray-like variation, since this is the women's game. He tries to pre-empt the opponent finding a rhythm by varying play from the beginning of the match. Even then, because he tends to not take charge of matches, he can be beaten by someone who is hot. That's because if some of the ATP players find rhythm it can be very very hard to stop them- even quite a lot of variation may not be sufficient to break their rhythm once they hit their straps. In the AO 2009 against Verdasco, also against Gonzalez in the French 09, against Roddick in Wimb 09, against Berdych in French 010, his opponents found rhythm and Murray lost.

That's why I would prefer it if she focused on taking charge of more points. Even a master of variation like Murray who covers court much better than Vika, often pays for not taking charge. He himself probably has to learn to take charge more if he wants to reach the next level, but his instincts may well prevent him from doing so. Against Roddick in Wimb last year he was constantly berating himself for chipping the returns back softly and being killed, but he still couldn't stop himself from returning passively.

Your point about her not being a truly tremendous defender is right I think- she can cover quite a lot of court but is best when she can keep the rally at least neutral.

The knee injury maybe made her lost confidence so the USO series and the USO will give the truth after she takes a good rest. IMO Decoturf is the perfect surface for Vika before Plexicushion, things goes very fast, her flat strokes and execution speed will advantage her so we'll see.

I thought the grass was helping her serve and her flat shots a bit, giving her a few more winners, but it didn't pay off in the end. And her record at USO is surprisingly poor, she has never been past 4R. I wonder why though?

You know, the idea of playing conservative isn't a bad one, but Vika goes from being aggressive to being being a pusher. She has a middle game but seldom uses it. Yes, when she ends up pushing she's in trouble. For a while now Vika has favoured solid rallying over first-strike tennis. This elevated her into the top 10, but she is paying for it now. And old habits die hard, and even if she thinks she has corrected a habit, under pressure it will tend to return.

The knee thing bothers me more than anything though. I really hope for her sake that she can heal them.

The only variations I want in Vika's game is better uses of angles. Vika has a correct BH dropshot but she really doesn't care to use it that much unfortunately. She used that once in the match against Petra and it worked.

Her defensive slice BH and FH looks good but she could get it a little better so that she can eventually scrape some points here and there. Her transition game IMO doesn't look good but she can only get better in time.

I love watching Andy on court because his strategies and game plans are great but the Murray-like variations would sign Vika's END and I also think that Vika needs to have the points in charge but if there were some things to steal from his game for Vika well that running outside FH would be one of them combined with his lasso short angled or mid-court FH to open up the DTL BH.

In Miami 2009 against Svletlana she often hit a variation of that same shot DTL everytime she was pulled out wide in the Deuce court and went for broke now she just simply prefers the safe long diagonal maybe the fact that she gained in speed and thinks that she can run down the next shots plays a role.

Since we're talking strategy I think Vika when she's beeing attacked should consider her length by hitting the ball flat and short in the diagonal or DTL to force the opponent to apply lift on the ball and not hit through it that's one of the things Murray does really well against powerhitters just redirecting the ball short DTL to your FH/BH and force you to lift the ball back to his FH/BH for the counter.

He also is able to find shorter angles so that you don't continuously hit through him. That's something Vika could use with her ballstriking instead of always thinking long moreover it's a safe shot too.

At last but not the least is it me or Vika doesn't consistently hit her DTL BH ?

I thought the grass was helping her serve and her flat shots a bit, giving her a few more winners, but it didn't pay off in the end. And her record at USO is surprisingly poor, she has never been past 4R. I wonder why though?
For the USO fatigue could have been an issue last year since it was her first full season. I don't think she really knew how to manage after such a brillant 2009 start.

You know, the idea of playing conservative isn't a bad one, but Vika goes from being aggressive to being a pusher. She has a middle game but seldom uses it. Why she regressed yesterday, I'm not sure, maybe because she was hoping Petra would start to miss.
I remember the most passive I've ever seen Vika played was in Pékin against Li Na. That match was just :spit: It was the first time as a fan I had ever seen someone fight so hard against their nature. Vika was trying defense so hard that she finally made one of the most famous WTA ballbashers look like a genius.

Anyway that beeing said despite that match I don't recall Vika starting passive and ending passive but she always starts very strong and transitions sometimes to very passive pushing. She must have her reasons.

I really miss the Vika of start 2009. I perfectly recall that in every match I saw from her that time she made me speechless because I just couldn't understand how someone could hit that strong, that long and that consistently on each and every ball even Serena doesn't do that so that just says it all. I want you back my little old Vika ! :sobbing:

Against Roddick in Wimb last year he was constantly berating himself for chipping the returns back softly and being killed, but he still couldn't stop himself from returning passively.
Guess what in Dubaï mid second set against Venus, Vika desesperatly tried that shot to start the exchanges but just didn't have the correct technic and had a tendency to over chip the ball. Who knows if she could control that shot maybe...

Kvitova is playing really well but she's just so streaky, she'll go through periods where she's playing well and periods where she's playing awful right now she's playing well. She was gifting so many points to Kaia and still won.

It definitely is a lost opportunity for Vika, which is sad, but hopefully she has a good summer since her form was/is coming back.

It is bad when you think Vika was beating her easily in Charleston just days after pulling her Hamstring in Marbella. From the few times i've seen Mchale i've not seen anything in her game which suggests she should even remotely challenge a top 20 player on a normal day :tape: Vika must've played really badly or just couldn't be bothered to try her hardest because of the humidity or to protect her knees.

I was a little surprised she played again so soon after Wimbledon though when she should really be resting those knees as much as possible before the USO series where she needs to start showing some consistency again and the only way she'l do that is if she's completely injury free.

IMO as an exo there's normally not much fright to have. It's really doubtful that she really gave it her best but it's true that with the status that Vika has she should have beaten Christina but I don't think that's a barometer where I'm scared now is if she's aggravated or reinjured her knees then there we'll have a big problem.

I'm leaning towards Vika wasn't trying to playing that well (or didn't want to over do it) and it was still 6-4, 7-5. Yes, Vika should be McHale period. But at the same time it's an exhibition, so it's hard to actually gage the level of play and the level of desire out there.

I am worried about her playing period after her knee issues on grass. I hope she's better, but I would have rather her not play at all until Stanford so she can be 100% healthy because that's the only way she's going to get her ranking up and win another title.

Couple of reports on the match yesterday (typing "kennedy funding" into google gives some interesting suggestions by the way..)

"I’m just playing for fun here today, just for people to enjoy," Azarenka said Sunday. "I don’t really care about the scores; it’s just for helping out people and enjoying myself."

All in all, the event was a major success for Miller and the rest of his co-directors. After McHale's win they issued a check of $475,000 to be donated to the Leslie Simon Breast Care and Cytodiagnosis Center at Englewood (N.J.) Hospital, and The Breast Center at Nyack Hospital.

There seems to be no mention of any injury which is good news although the American media probably wouldn't try to taint Mchales win anyway. Just unforced errors, fatigue, poor returning and serving and choking a 5-3 2nd set lead - definitely sounds like a tank :yeah::lol:

What the hell? :haha: Even if the match didn't matter, I thought she'd still breeze by either McHale OR Oudin regardless of how much effort she was putting into it. Does that mean I have to hope Vika doesn't draw McHale early during the summer hardcourt season now?

I was hoping she'd take a couple of weeks off after Wimbledon to let her body recover completely from any niggles she has been carrying since the clay season :( Maybe she's worried if she has too long off like last year after Wimby it'l make her lose her form again so she's trying to keep herself sharp for the USO series. Still, it would have been nice if she'd had a bit of a rest though...

That would make sense if she was coming off a stellar first half of the season like she was last year. This year, it's been a different story, even if its probably injury-related. If that's the case, doesn't it make sense to take a bit of a breather and regroup? Honestly, other than the fun she may be having doing these various exhos, it doesn't seem to be a great idea right now.

I read in the other thread that she's facing Hingis. If true, the good news is that it's actually going to be quite an interesting match up to follow or at least see how she does. :)

I think the opposite. The fact that she didn't really play many matches from march to may should mean that she's fresher than she would have been at this point last year. So if she's feeling healthy it gives her a chance to train hard and hit the ground running for the US hardcourts. I guess she is using the exos to break up her training.

It's 5 sets, each set is a different dicipline (mens singles, womens singles, womens doubles, mens doubles and mixed doubles). The home team gets to choose the order of these diciplines. You play lets and there's no-AD scoring. And each set goes to the best of 5, a tie breaker at 4-all if needed.

The team that wins the most games overall, wins the match.

Azarenka will be with the team Sunday, July 18 vs. the Boston Lobsters, Tuesday, July 20 vs. the New York Sportimes (with John McEnroe), and Wednesday, July 21 vs. the St. Louis Aces (with Anna Kournikova). Pretty much, but there can be last minute changes too. Like if Vika plays badly in a discipline the captain might not use her for one of the others. I know recently the captain of the team Davenport is on told her last minute she was playing singles and she was not ready to run around on the court. But they traditionally like to mix it up between the young players, the old players and the current players, so that everyone gets a chance to play.

The WTT finals are at the end of July (the 25th is the date for the finals), so it shouldn't be too chaotic for Vika but I think her participation in WTT will depend on how she does at the tour events.

I just got back in town from seeing Davenport play WTT in Kansas City and I come back to those scores by Vika! WTF happened!?

I'm more perplexed by the women's doubles score because even if Vika was sucktacular, Rennae is a doubles GOAT and would have been able to carry Vika.

I have a friend who saw the match and just said that Coco hit Vika off the court, so I'm incredibly worried about her now. But Coco has been playing very well on the challenger circut so she's in form and confident the weird thing about WTT is that this is really the one chance the random players have at beating a bigger name (the lower ranked players take it much more seriously than the higher ranked). But I feel like Vika just didn't try or didn't want to expend the energy or she is actually still having trouble with her knees or something else she's not admitting to.

I'm hoping because this was Vika's first time playing under this super fast, confusing format that it threw her off. Otherwise I'm really worried about how Stanford is going to go. :scared:

Wow these scores are a bit worrying. It's just WTT and I wouldn't worry too much about losses but winning just one game against Coco? I haven't heard anything about Coco lately and even after some good challenger results Vika should have done a bit better
So I just hope that Vika didn't try that hard and that Coco was super-motivated against a good player & in front of a home crowd...

Something must be wrong for Vika to lose firstly to Mchale and now badly to Coco even if it's only an exhibition  Vika just doesn't strike me as the sort of person that would be happy losing to anyone regardless of the competition because of how feisty and intense she is everytime she's on court, you can just tell she really hates losing at anything so 'tanking' just doesn't seem like an explanation for me unless she's playing through real pain. Her knees are more than likely still bothering her and hard courts are the worst surface for bad knees which asks the question why she didn't just have a short break after Wimbledon :( If Vika was even close to 100% I just don't see how anyone ranked that low would be allowed to hit her off the court .

I think her new fitness regime under her new fitness coach this year that apparently went from focusing on strength to stamina has been a disaster because she seems to be so prone to injuries this year like never before.

I think her new fitness regime under her new fitness coach this year that apparently went from focusing on strength to stamina has been a disaster because she seems to be so prone to injuries this year like never before.

This is also true, and that's why I'm so worried about her. Vika tends to be more competitve then other known names, especially when it comes to exhibitions since she's now the name that people are coming to see. I'm very worried about her knees, especially since she's had problems with them in the past. But also, if they are bothering her, Vika has shown this year that she's not the type of person to turn down something or quit unless she absolutely has to. So if her knees (or something) was bothering her in the Kennedy Exhibition she put it aside when she was offered to play WTT.
I do hope that there's a non-injury, non-slumping reason why she lost these exho matches, but it's starting to look like she's more injured than she's willing admit to the public, which is even more odd because I don't remember her ever being private about her injuries until she was asked about the nature of her knee troubles this year.

I have to agree about the fitness coach issue. I've already talked about my unhappiness with her current coach and him letting her play injured, while it's commendable and brave, it's still awfully stupid for a very young player to do especially when they have grand slam potential.

If she doesn't put up the results we had during Eastbourne and the first part of the season this summer and fall, then I think she'll have to once again rethink her coaching situation.

Thanks everyone! It still hasn't totally sunk in that it happened yet even though I have pictorial evidence. She was so nice and so sweet and you could definitely tell she's done this a lot since out of all the players she was the most people friendly and comfortable.
It's even sweeter because I've never had a chance to go see her play before. My parents live in Michigan where the closest tournaments are Cincy and Toronto (two tournaments she's seldom played) and now I'm in Oklahoma and there isn't a women's event nearby so the fact that I've thought for years I'd never get to see her play and now this it's just beyond incredible!

My sister and I are going to try and go to the US Open one year and a couple of smaller tournaments, my goal is to get Vika's autograph and a picture now. :hearts:

Considering the WTT is a team event, I'd think she'd be amped up to win in whatever match/situation she's out on the court for so I think the recent result is more concerning than the Kennedy Invitational one which was for charity (hence, in a less competitive spirit). To be honest, I'm not quite sure what to expect from her play in the upcoming tournaments.

But Lindsay's last match with the Aces was on Sunday, she went home to California on Monday (according to her Twitter) so she could have a week's rest before playing doubles at Stanford.

WTT tries to make sure there's only one big named player when they play even though a lot of teams have multiple well knowns on it that way the match-ups are more even. So I believe Vika will be playing Anna Kournikova tonight in singles, which should be very interesting. :p

Vika & Paes should play mixed doubles at the US Open. :tears: They would totally win it. :inlove:

She only played in mixed doubles with Paes which they won 5-1 against Kournikova/Pavel and Washington won the tie 19-17 :)

Oh, you can tell I just pay attention to the singles then.
I would totally love it if Vika could play the mixed with Paes. :D

Well it'l take a lot for him to part with Cara Black with there not too shabby record of 2 slams and 2 runners up plus a QF out in the last 5 slams in mixed doubles  The best we could hope for is probably Vika to partner Mirnyi again, i'd also love to see them play Hopman cup one year if it carries on being held - they were scheduled to play it in 06 but Max pulled out

This is true too, Max is a great player and great guy, so I'd love to see her play with him again too. :D

Now keeping up with the Washington-Boston Lobsters match up. :)

Vika and Paes won the mixed doubles part 5-4. Now it's women's doubles with Haynes/Stubbs playing for Washington (and currently down)

After griping for a few days, I have to say, WTT is actually pretty fun to follow. :)

All these shenanigans losing the the likes of Vandeweghe have to stop even if it is WTT. WS: 1-2.

I thought 21th was the last match she would play before Stanford.

Wait, checking the WTT site, are the Kastles eliminated from play already?

It looks as if they've missed out by the narrowest of margins to Boston for the playoff place

Oh wow, I thought they'd still make the conference finals. Thanks for confirming.

So now our last memory of WTT for this year is her losing badly to Coco Vandeweghe. Great.

:sobbing: Too bad.

Oh well, on to Stanford. Main draw is tomorrow.

Can someone explain to me why the hell Coco is all GOAT-like against Vika? I mean seriously, I know Coco has potential but not that much potential. I hope to god this time she just tanked epically because she needed to get to Stanford.

I'm guessing this one was more of a tank to get to Stanford as you say, otherwise she would of had to play again tonight. Her stats look like tanking ones anyway.

1st Serve % 47%
Aces 1
Double Faults 2
Winning %: 1st Serve Pts 2 of 7 = 29%
Winning %: 2nd Serve Pts 1 of 8 = 13%
Break Point Conversions 1 of 2 = 50%
Total Points Won 10
Games Won % 1 of 6 = 17%
3 All Points Won % 0 of 0 = 0%

I hope they've been paying her well to make these young Americans look like world beaters  I still can't say I'm overly confident about her chances at Stanford though

Let's believe this: Washington pay a lot of $$$ to have a good replace for Venus & Serena, and Boston paid also a lot of money to tank with Coco.
She did all that, she had fun and a bit of $$$ and now she's ready to return to big challenges and beat some big names and recover her ranking.

For us there are annoying loses and tanks :tape::sad:
But for her, there funny ways of winning money, doing tourism and to practice.:lol:

I won't criticize Vika until Standoford. If she isn't injured I believe that she'll does her best.

Yeah those look like tanktastic stats right there. Her not being injured is most important right now. I'm sure got paid quite a bit and had fun, using the hot humid conditions of Washington to gear up for the Open. And the best part is these losses won't show up on her record.:tape:

I'm not confident for Stanford but that's primarily based on her Wimbledon and spring results (not WTT and these exhibitions).
I'm just going to take it one match at a time.

If she's in good condition physically there's no reason why she can't have a good USO series, Miami is still the last place she was completely injury free :( She played some of her best tennis at Eastbourne where it felt like only her knee problems robbed her of a deserved title  then her first 2 matches at Wimbledon she played awesome too and then it took a special performance from Kvitova to beat her.

I'm not too worried which top 8 seed she gets drawn near in Stanford other than maybe Sharapova or Dementieva. Hopefully Coco will make it through Stanford Qualies and Vika can teach her a harsh lesson this time in R1 now we're back to the serious stuff  or if not her then Mchale :armed:
