Hi everyone,

This is my first blog on my newest blog page, the VaidiBlog! I know, the name isn't the best, and I'll fix it at some point, but it works for right now. I'm currently the number 9 player in the world in my tour debut last year, and I was really happy to get to the finals of Wimbledon and come so close to winning my first Grand Slam. I've really been preparing hard for the Australian and French Opens because my best chances are there because my game matches up so well. I've been at Bolletieri's training hard, as you can see from the picture I posted. I really feel like I need to be careful not to have a sophomore slump and have worse results than I had last year, which can happen to a lot of players who aren't used to defending points. My coach knows about players with sophomore slumps as he coached Jennifer Capriati who was playing so well one year and got into the top 8, and then fell off the map the next year, so he's really concerned about just maintaining a good level to start out and building on that form.

In the off-season, I've come to appreciate all of the girls a lot more, because it's been weird not seeing them in competition. I especially like to see Misa Krajicek at tournaments, because she's always so friendly. She just needs to develop more self-confidence, as clearly her results back up her ranking now. If I ever had to pick a rival, and this is kind of strange, I'd pick Maria Kirilenko. She's a girl who causes a lot of conversations about her and her behavior off court and is the regular tour diva. I don't know, but something about her whole package seems to really bother me. I won't let it affect me too much though, I'll be nice to her still. I have no reason to really be aggressive towards her yet.

Anyway, even though the tennis is going good, I noticed that I'm really lonely going back to my apartment in Sydney, where I'm staying during the Australian season. I'd love to eventually find a guy who won't treat me like an accessory like that Radek....ugh...disgusting man.

Lots of love,

Nicole

Hey everyone!

I'm still training quite hard for the upcoming season, but I wanted to share with you a friend that I met while I was over in London. His name is Oliver Tompsett, and he was one of the performers at the pre-Wimbledon party sponsored by Virgin and Sony Ericsson. I find him to be quite attractive, and we only became friends from chance really. I was there, and he was just coming off the stage. He was anticipating his album release at the time, and we were talking and he's such a creative person and a fun, laid back sweetheart. Here's a video of him singing, which is needless to say...godlike...

I'm due to be leaving Florida for Australia soon, and the season will begin and I'll be able to show you the travels that I have, and document them here! Bye everyone!

Hi everyone,

Firstly, I'd like to say that I'm really excited to be getting ready to play in the upcoming 5th season of the ATC circuit, and I'm happy to be starting out in Hopman Cup with my fellow countryman Tomas Berdych.

Now, having said that, I would like to address remarks from a Miss Maria Kirilenko....

How dare she imply that I'm going out with that ugly, unhygienic, career destroying man named Radek Stepanek. I came on this tour single, and I am still single and have higher standards than that anyway. She is upset that she didn't win a title last year and I did, and certainly had I actually completed an entire season, I would have ended up ranked higher than Kirilenko, having missed an entire hard court season, and a Slam, the indoor season and STILL ending in the top 10. She should spend her time instead of trying to get attention by flirting with fat police officers and slandering people who work hard for their success rather than just getting their way all the time getting her game together, which is clearly on the decline. Need I remind her that I beat her at Wimbledon? Convincingly...against someone who was a clear favorite for the title...

Success breeds people who are naturally going to want to tear you down, and I just will let my racket do the talking for me.
