First off,Pepina Dulce--whenever you see this--I need you to change my job title in the 1st post so that it matches my sig, okay,mi sobrina angelita:angel:?

On an unrelated note,I'm feeling a little pleasantly-sentimental tonight,so I'm gonna share my imagination for this thread's 1st longer post....I'm picturing a Norby who gets motivated to raise his fitness level to join a local amateur soccer league in Hungary. He doesn't resemble any steroid takers by any stretch, but he develops a lean, athletic frame that also builds his confidence with women. As a grand prize for winning the league title,Norby and his teammates get a paid,one-week vacation to Australia.

Since he's really not a bad guy to begin with, the imminent trip inspires Norby to make peace with Sweet Cara, and they chat for a while and make arrangements to meet at a lovely public garden spot.Though INNER beauty is the only sort that transcends time,it turns out that Cara is roughly equivalent to Aga Radwanska on a cuteness level, and that beauty is enhanced by her smile & lovely character.Anyhow.....

The day comes for them to meet and Cara spots Norby, wandering lost through the garden which is thick with vegetation, from a relative distance and thinks to herself,":)Hmmmm...he's cuter than I expected him to be....Let's see how this goes:p." She waves Norby down to direct his attention, and he slowly approaches while trying to compose himself: ":hearts:Oh my!What an angel!...and to think that I was so snotty with her:banghead::banghead:What an IDIOT I was....."

Norby manages to get himself together reasonably well, and he & Cara sit down to converse amidst the splendid garden scenery and ambience. They click almost instantly and, thanks to a major Australian surfing tournament that's being televised that day,the normally-popular gardens are virtually abandoned;).An hour just flies by in what seems like 5 minutes for the two attractive youths....Then,Norby feels compelled to formally apologize again even though they had already settled things over the phone a few weeks ago.....

Norby: (:hearts:Oh my goodness;she is looks AMAZING with the sun shining on her hair that way....C'mon,man,COMPOSE yourself somehow)Ummmm....Cara....I just wanna....ummmm...let you know that...ummmm....I'm sorry for...ummm...being a j-j-jerk(Oh boy!I don't know how much longer I can hold out:hearts:)
Cara::D That's okay,Norby.I've been QUITE content to let bygones be bygones. You already said you were sorry on the phone, and I accepted. You really didn't need to apolog---MMMMMPHHH!
Norby::kiss::kiss::kiss:(God help me!I couldn't resist one second longer)
Cara: (:drool:Wow!I didn't know that any Hungarian men were familiar with the Latino Muzzle Kiss):kiss::kiss:

Well, now we're back in reality again,Domik amigos....Sincerely hope that my little diversion didn't offend anyone but,in my warped imagination,THIS is how the NorbyCara Romance:inlove: might begin to evolve....That's all for now:angel:

Bruce :hug:Glad it didn't offend you,Cara:).When I was a kid,my mom told me a quick story she had read in the newspaper regarding a man and a woman who first met in a disputed, minor traffic accident. They were pretty pissed with each other at the outset, but then,as they tried to talk things out, they went from  to :hearts::hearts::hearts: and eventually got married. That memory deserves a lot of credit for my inspiration above:p

I totally forgot about DC final until I read somebody posting about that on twitter yesterday  I'm not watching, just checking lice score now and then.
I'm trying to get some uni work done but I'm not very motivated today.

I bought an amazing toy fire engine today. It has makes sound and you can put real water into it. It's for my little nephew (he's not really my nephew, the connection is a little more complicated). I hope he'll like it :D

BG - What do you think... texas or alabama? To answer your question,Alabama looks stronger, overall,to me...and that means that your Vols were THIS close--imagine my fingers pinched closely together--to ruining the championship season. The difference with college football is that 18- and 19-year-olds aren't as dependable as pros...they might go out partying the night before the game and be wasted when it's time to play. Also, younger players sometimes mature a lot as the season progresses so you can witness great strides over the course of the year...that can make NCAA football very unpredictable at times.

IF you don't hate the Tide as a Vols fan might, then I hope your hubby enjoys a national championship celebration in January...and even the Tide's first Heisman winner

Wow!!I'm still recovering from your post in the Dinatards:eek:.While it's normal for folks to look back nostalgically at their single days,it almost seemed to me as if you REGRETTED marriage. You don't need to reply,if you don't wish(I won't pry),but I'd feel like total crap if I came home and saw a note written on the table--we're assuming that my wife had mislaid it temporarily--where my wife longed to be single again.......

:haha: Bruce! While marriage/parenthood has its own set of rewards I don't think anyone who has been married for a long time would say that it was "more fun" than being young, single and dating! I mean I want to be married now but I won't pretend that I didn't enjoy my "fancy-free" days! By the way, are you married Bruce?

Yes like that guy from Florida getting a DUI before the SEC champ game. :o

Well, I have rather mixed emotions on this. As a graduate of the UofA I should of course be excited for them to win but somehow the orange in me just can't be! I think they have a good shot though. And hubby is ridiculously excited about it. He was jumping around like a (drunken) lunatic last Saturday.

Yeah but you're playing with the words here
True love is among the expressions Soulmates or MFEO for me !

I don't believe that you can love someone your whole life , that there's someone perfect for everyone out there or that the passion and love will always remain the same between two persons . That's why couples try to make their relationships evolve , first with a big expensive marriage then with a few kids and if they're lucky , strong and honest they'll have a shot and won't end up with an ugly divorce or stay stuck in what doesn't feel like their own life anymore !

Life is full of What if's and Maybe's , i don't think Regrets is the right word , you just wonder what could have been if things turned out differently

I realise i'm being really pessimistic on this subject but i've never been proven wrong so far ! So until i see a proof that 'True Love' exist , i'll admit that i was wrong :p

Everything happens for a reason , life is a big puzzle you just put the pieces together one by one and everyone's final picture is different ! When you look back it's funny to see how some events changed your path , at least i love analysing how this and that affected my life and i'm eager to see what tomorrow will bring me , but one sure thing is that regrets won't be a part of it ! ;)

You claim that people who seem happily married are lying frauds who are only pretending to be content, but you have nothing more than supposition to go on...nothing solid.I've known certain people who were honest to a fault, people of integrity, and I've known them very well. They are either faking so superbly that they're the greatest actors/actresses on the planet.....OR they are truly happy as all the signs indicate.Would enjoy hearing your explanation for why humans would be capable of loving a best friend for life...while some 'magic switch' somehow prevents them from loving someone as a husband/wife.Since this isn't an empirical,scientifically-provable issue,Vanessa,I hope that you're wrong...that my grandma DOES sincerely love my grandfather and supports him as he struggles to survive cancer. It's more palatable to my heart than YOUR version---that grandma is just playing games until gramps dies when she can f--k the other older, single guys in the retirement community if she wants.I'll make sure not to tell her what you think of her 'make-believe,insincere' love

The fact that you come from the land of Sartre(now THERE was a happy guy:lol:...he and Nietzsche)...and where presidents are so lacking in adult-level self-control that they can't survive without a couple mistresses...it doesn't surprise me that you'd be so cynical on this...all I can say is,bonne chance with all that jumping around...you'd probably have more peace of mind if you took a sexual appetite suppressant so that you could calmly lead a Platonic lifestyle...but it's your life to do as you wish:hatoff:

vanúss
Dec 10th, 2009, 03:03 PM
I don't generalize people here , i said i don't believe it now i hope i'm wrong because otherwise it would be even more pathetic !
You think i only have suppositions but you don't know that , it's not because i'm only 21 that i know nothing , that i don't have a brain attached to my body or that i make judgements just because i feel like it . Excuse me but i'd rather not believe that someone's happy just because this person is smiling or saying so , apparenceas are deceptives and i've learned that at my expenses so yeah now i think too much of such simple things but at least if there's something there i'll see it and if i am wrong i'll move on ! It's funny that you talk about actors/actresses because there's a saying in France that says 'Be the main actor of your own life' , if someone wants to show or hide things from you , they'll succeed , and then there's the denial chapter , which is a pretty strong feeling and a hard one to get ride of :p

But once again it's not the same story for everyone , i'm not the voice of reason ! I keep pointing that out because you obviously think i'm cynical simply because i don't believe/want/need that in my life to feel complete ( :bs: ) when i only have high expectations for myself .
You were born alone and you'll die alone , why all of a sudden you need to have someone other than a friend or a family member to make you feel complete ? You're on your own in this world , and if that's not enough to make you happy that you need a significant other to help you stand on your feet i find it very sad ! You need to love yourself and your life in order to even begin to love someone else . If you're not fulfilled as an individual i don't get how you can be between two entities .

I believe in Love don't get me wrong , but i don't believe in Forever . Then again love is not just destined for the person you decide to share your life with , i'm in love with plenty of things and people . Loving and Being in love is also another story

It look like you're taking this discussion on the subject to seriously , i though we were able to have a debate and keep our cool while doing so around here but my mistake  Maybe it's because you have your grandparents exemple and though i was taking them for granted or something like i said previously ' if they're lucky , strong and honest they'll have a shot at it ' i don't pretend to be able to figure out every single person and in my mind it was clear that my post wasn't made to shoot anyone in the foot but i'm used to these kind of conversations since my opinion is most of the time wrong and shocking in other's eyes ! My words are simply not made to be palatable to anyone's heart ;)

I choose to see the bigger picture , and THIS is for me just a tiny piece of my puzzle  ( and don't worry about my sexual appetite , i feed the beast when it's hungry ;) )

Now i hope you won't let that disagreement interfere around this place , because i won't .

Now i hope you won't let that disagreement interfere around this place , because i won't .Vanessa,I've excerpted portions of your rambling:p...just kidding;).Your earlier comments sounded more forceful to me,as if you were equating your opinions with FACT,whereas they're only factual for YOU b/c you choose to live & believe this way...but now you seem to have backed off and acknowledged that you don't have all the answers for everyone in re love.To be fair,AYE don't have those answers for everyone, either, but I find it lame--and often convenient for certain libertines--when folks suggest that people are capable of lifelong friendships yet not intimate relationships.Their reasoning is usually extremely shallow and self-serving when they speak thusly.

Vania,I wouldn't even have answered your post if I had true animosity towards you:hug:;it was merely a strong difference of opinion....Aye DID separate an old saying you used that only has PARTIAL truth. You AREN'T born alone unless you hatched from an egg(no less than your mom MUST be there with you:p),and you don't necessarily DIE alone if you have loved ones by your side.If you refer to the SPIRITUAL sense then, yes, each person must give account of their own soul to their Maker after they die........but hopefully you and Pierre can experience some sort of romantic, simultaneous death as senior citizens whose plane crashes as it descends on some beautiful deserted island;)

Bruce - you misunderstand my post! I am not saying that I want to be single and dating anymore and I don't regret getting married. I am only saying that it is fun to be young and in that going out/meeting new people/dating kind of of life. It is a fleeting time for a person and I think one should enjoy it. Not because it is worse to be married but because it is different. Also, for me marriage is a one time deal (barring the death of a spouse of course). Just another reason to get it right and take your time!

And as far as the "true love" discussion you are having with Vanessa... I think people can truly love each other for life but that does not mean that there won't be problems, that the "in love" part doesn't fade, that it doesn't get mundane or that the degree of love that you feel for a person cannot rise and fall throughout the course of the relationship. The important thing is that you are committed to staying with that person through both the up and the down times. Love can definitely evolve over time - especially the longer you are together and the more life changes you go through. Anyone who thinks that the "fairy tale" romance can last forever is mistaken IMO. Once you have been together for a while, seen each other's worst sides, gotten used to everything, etc. it just doesn't feel like those beginning stages of falling in love anymore. Plus living togther, money management, raising children, etc. can cause even the happiest couples to get on each other's nerves - or worse. What you have to hope, though, is that after the "newness" wears off you can really love the other person anyway - despite difficulties. To me, that is what marriage is about. ;)

PS. What do you mean about the American culture?

You are right that I badly misinterpreted the intent of your words...sorry,Amanda:o

You are ALSO right,IMO,in re 'romantic feelings' vs. true, deeper love that you re-inforce with commitment....SOOOO many people miss that truth, never learn it........Disregard the American culture comment;it was colored by my negative experiences and observations in the U.S. and I shouldn't have included that in the post

Okay,it's time to lighten things up a little bit with a short song that I wrote when I was either 10 or 11(can't remember exactly).I posted this in Volume 1 and Maz seemed to enjoy it a lot,so now I'll share it again for ALL the Domik newcomers who may have missed it the 1st time

Background:When I was a young boy,we had to take our cat,Ralph,to the vet who informed us that he needed to take a 'stool sample'.I thought to myself,"STOOL SAMPLE??What the hell is THAT?A stool is something you SIT on.That's the dumbest-sounding word I've ever heard:p:p:p." Later,I watched as the vet stuck the thermometer in Ralph's rectum, and I laughed my ass off when I saw the expression on his face and listened to the bizarre mewing sound he made.If he had been in intense pain or something, then I wouldn't have laughed at all but, obviously, this situation wasn't so grave...and it inspired me to write the song below(keep in mind that my mom wouldn't allow profanity, but MANY 10-year-old boys take pride in grossing out women and girls)Bold-face words indicate stronger intonation......

Verse 1
You THINK the cat's SICK?
But you WANT an ex-AMP-le?
Well HERE it COMES....YUM--YUM,
A STOOOOOOOOL SAMP-le

Verse 2
You TOOK kitty's TEMP-er-a-ture,
But it JUST wasn't AMP-le??
You KNOW what you NEED...in-DEED,
A STOOOOOOOL SAMP-le

Now I'll grant you that the lyrics are pretty juvenile, but don't forget that I was only 10 at that time.Considering my age,I'd say that the song was fairly inventive:p........Hope you all enjoyed it:)

Well,my date tonight,Paty, really isn't a terrible person, per se,but she shows careless disregard for others...and this was definitely our LAST date,I'm sure.

First, she failed to tell me that we would be picking up her friend,Rosy---this is significant b/c I drive a small Nissan Tsuru and aye WOULD have removed some things from my back seat had I known that we'd have a passenger.Paty is cute and shapely but her friend is,to put it gently, overweight, and it didn't impress me that Paty didn't offer her pal the front seat where she could have fit comfortably....Rosy has quite a sweet personality and didn't complain at all.

Even though they are often thick-headed,Gringas are usually logical enough to accept a Plan B when the first plan doesn't work......but Mexican girls???Unless they're the mild-mannered religious type, they insist on going through with their original intent even if it was an idiotic idea from the start. It soon became clear that Paty didn't have the first f--king clue where the 'party' was supposed to be.A different friend had invited her but, even after she got on her cell with this other friend,it seemed as if her pal was either too drunk(or maybe stoned on peyote)to accurately describe where we were expected to meet her.We live in a fair-sized metropolis,so it's very easy to wander for hours, burn up expensive gasoline, and put needless wear-and-tear on an older car while driving in city traffic.

Finally,Paty SWORE that her other friend was coming to meet us in a liquor-store parking lot...but several minutes passed, and the only people who came by were a few gang members who began suspiciously checking out the car.Rosy, understandably, began getting scared so,since I didn't have a pistol with me,I drove off and told Paty that she and her friend could choose a restaurant where we could eat....Otherwise,we'd just go home.I continued driving until Paty saw a taxi and asked me to drop her off so that she and Rosy could take the cab to the mythical 'party'.....They'll probably wander 'til midnight and go broke on cab fare:eek:

In closing, allow me to say that our women are frequently quite charming(not to mention beautiful),but so many are still living in pre-historic times with regard to common sense, punctuality and preparedness.......Okay,the rant is over and I relinquish the thread to our extraordinary Domik Damas:)

Cristina,we may have bumped heads in the past, but I think that's just normal for strong-willed people.Besides wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas,I don't have anything profound to say,so I'll tell you a story:

When I was a seven- or eight-year-old reading comic books,I still held faithful to the young-boy maxim that girls were yucky. However, even though I didn't buy her comics, the Red Sonja character most definitely caught my growing hormones' attention with how shapely she looked as an amazon warrior. Many years later,I watched the sucky movie by that name which starred Bridget Nielsen.......yet I enjoyed that film somewhat on a very, shall we say,'primitive' level:lol:.

Rewind back to seven years old...when Sonja prepped me for ANOTHER character who did battle with one of my favorites,Spiderman. He had a run-in with Thundra, the 6'6"(or maybe 7'),red-headed jungle queen.Thundra mistakenly assumed that Spidey was a poacher of some sort,so they fought despite Spidey's claims of innocence. It was kinda corny, really, and in the end they both basically fled from each other--decided to fight some other day--w/o settling anything.Since they were both 'good guys',they couldn't end it with one badly hurting the other.....Nevertheless,I distinctly recall thinking to myself that it would be so cool if Spiderman snugly wrapped up the shapely Thundra in his webbing:hearts:,and then:

S-man: (Holy crap!:hearts:I need to spend more time in the jungle)
Thundra::mad:Release me from this silky cocoon immedi---MMMMMPHHH!
S-man::kiss::kiss::kiss:...etc.
Thundra: (WOW!:D For a poacher,he SURE has his good points):kiss::kiss:.....
Following oxygen break:

S-man:Like I was TRYING to tell you,I'm NOT a poacher;I just wear this silly costume for anonymity so that psychos like Dr.Doom won't find out who I am and hurt my loved ones, like Aunt May
Thundra: (Oh my goodness,he's the first man who's ever been strong enough to capture me...AND he's the sweet sensitive type:hearts:)Well.....I happen to live in a secluded village in the deep jungle....We never have trespassers...and I've taught the friendly locals how to speak English,so you could bring your Aunt May along......if you ever wanted to visit:lick:
S-man:Visit shmisit!I'm movin' IN!!:inlove::inlove:
Thundra::inlove::inlove:

As you can see, being an only child helped spur my imagination:lol::wavey:

Nina, since you're a woman,it might be hard for you to understand what a treat it is for a guy to have an intelligent, witty gal friend who realizes that he's only being affectionate when he jokes about spanking her deliciously-baked German buns:p.I'm sure that I've inherited some traces of my American father's German ancestry...and that this has helped us have an intellectual connection since meeting in the thread.

My sister got knocked up when she was 17 ( i dare anyone to judge :o ) so i was only 11 when my nephew was born ,Well,we can probably agree that she was at least a little reckless...HOWEVER,I truly applaud your sister for looking beyond her potential future difficulties and respecting the dignity of the life of her unborn son.It would have been MUCH easier, from a purely pragmatic standpoint,if she'd just pretended that he didn't fully exist and terminated him(a common, clever, warped propaganda spin).Big Time :hug: from me to your sis,Vane:)

I have watched some of the HC too but none of the matches this year are worth staying up for! :p Although I do like both Igor and Lena D.

As for THE match.. I wish I could help you but I have no idea. I know there are bits and pieces on youtube but I haven't seen anything else. I have a similar situation actually. Last month we had a problem with our cable and had to switch out boxes for the DVR so I lost everything that was recorded - including this match and ceremony. :sobbing: I bet it will turn up somewhere though.. I will keep an eye out on MTF. Speaking of which.. someone has posted links to the screen caps from when Marat did that same TV show Dinara was on. They are quite nice. :hearts:

To talk again about the ATP i love Tennis so i'll still follow it but in a different way , the sport is the same but the guy who represented it for me and introduced me to it is no longer around . I don't get passionnate/care about a lot of people so when a player or a team is out of the picture i kind of am too . So far i don't know if i'm able to get 700.000% behind someone like i already did ( not just with Marat but in plenty of other Sports too ) since i've been into Sports since i'm 12 so almost 10 years now and all the stories i've been 'reading' are coming to an end one by one...so i guess time will tell

Yes.. I totally get it. I do like some other ATP players (watched a little of Gulbis/Seppi today) and will continue to follow the sport but I certainly wouldn't get up in the night or go out of my way to find a stream without Marat playing..

And yes thank goodness we still have Dinara.. Hopefully Marat will support her a little bit this year since he will have nothing to do. ;)
