They come back from 8-3 down just to lose 10-8:o:o
Also comeback from 2-5 and 2 set points just to lose it in a tiebreak.
Disappointment:o

It was all Sams Fault making Errors and Moving when she shouldn't Be :o Wth
She was doing Running to the other side when the ball is coming to her and Rennae was no where near it.
Like at 8-7 She moved When Black was hiring the ball towards her Renae was at the other side.
I mean Sam didn't look bothered :spit:

3 years in a row, they've just owned this last part of the decade. :worship:

Can't really argue with their no.1 status on the back of this match. This match showed again that they are truly the best fighters, they just never give up. From 6-6 they had to play 2 tie-breaks to win the match and they did just that. The way they respond under pressure.

Heartbreaker for Rennae once again at the YEC. I didn't like that she had to play Bluber in the 1R. She's come close so many times. Gotta feel for her, and for Sam losing her 100% YEC record.

If you play only 6 tournaments and have a chance of being #1 while the other team plays all year long and BARELY get the #1, that's quite sad for the other team.
Nevertheless Congrats to Bluber on being YE #1 for the third straight year:yeah:

Serena/Venus will get it next year.
Will be interesting to see if Ssrena comes up with a "I see myself as #2, Liezel and Cara did a great job by winning Madrid and Cincinatti while I won 3 Slams and (maybe) the YEC."

Wow, hopefully the final will be just as close and exciting.
Congrats to Black and Huber.

Are V + S both playing the Sydney tournament next year? Maybe they could get the number one spot there?

LOL. I'm only reading these now but what an ignorant and misinformed thing to say. Of course they deserve it. They devote their whole time to doubles, work like crazy at it, and leave everything on the court. There's no other team that one could argue deserves it more than them. Sure, the Williams sisters had a fine year but they only played 6 tournaments. They didn't play Dubai, Beijing, Cincinnati, Canada etc. etc. when they could have. They also lost early at a slam, something Bluber did not do.

If you play only 6 tournaments and have a chance of being #1 while the other team plays all year long and BARELY get the #1, that's quite sad for the other team.
Nevertheless Congrats to Bluber on being YE #1 for the third straight year:yeah:

I'd say it's pretty impressive from the Williams' point of view to get all the way to no.2 like that. But I just don't think Cara and Liezel were going to let them get away with it all the way to no.1. At some point they should have played another few tournaments if they really wanted to secure the no.1 convincingly.

But anyway, people can hate Liezel and Cara, and think doubles is useless or whatever, but I'm just over the moon with this result and seeing Bluber cap another fantastic year at the top. Now for the finals....

It always means alot, but this year there was actually some competition for it during the YEC. Unlike 2006, 2007, 2008 when it was decided much earlier in the year.

The WS have a fine year and Bluber has a fantastic year. Haha.
3 Slams titles vs 1 Slam final.

Bluber will finiash the year as #1 but the best team of 2009 was the WS.

Stosur and Stubbs:hug:

umm why? Neither of the teams won a Grand Slam this year. The team that won 3 of the 4 has a chance to be in the finals against the team that is ranked number 1. That seems like it should be the final to me.

Still smiling over this. :D

Any other number just wouldn't look right next to Cara and Liezel's name anymore. Of the past 5 years, only 2006 didn't see Cara as the year-end no.1.

Serena and Venus are the true doubles #1, doesn't matter what the rankings say. Cara and Huber should take no pride from their empty doubles #1 rankings

They're #1 by pure quantity. Definitely not quality.

Dave.

Lol, the bitterness.

Most of the people in here didn't even care about who has the year-end doubles no.1 until this year when their faves had a shot at it, and they feel they're in a position to say who deserves it and who doesn't. Ah well.
