Just thought it would be interesting to take a look at the players who finally broke through and won their first event this year :) and unless any of them will lose some challenger points in the next couple weeks, all of them will finish in the top 60 or higher. well done ladies :bigclap: :yeah:



by order of when they won their first title, here they are:


1. Azarenka-Brisbane (also won Memphis and Miami)

3. Martinez Sanchez-Bogota (also won Bastad)

WRONG! She is ranked #60 :p

Her year wasn't that bad ;) :rolleyes:

She complied 1057 of her 1088 points between January (Brisbane) and April (Rome).

....and then 31/1088 pts between May (Madrid) and October (Beijing) :bigcry:

intresting that alot of these players are not the classic hard and harder hitters.
most of them have a unique element to thier game.

Pretty surprising to see Kleybanova and Peng without a singles title. Neither tend to play down, though, because surely they'd have a title by now. Kleybanova really blew an easy opportunity for her to win Moscow.

I can't believe Rezai just won her 1st title this year, she has been in this tour for like..4 years?
