I hope that one of them wins it to get the chance for that big prize money; it would make Bally much more interesting. Yanina actually earned a sum close to it in US open 09, but Shahar biggest pay check was Miami 07 semi-finals which was "merely" quarter million dollar.

If one of them gets it, it's fully earned; winning 4 MM tournaments in 1 year is pretty difficult thing to do.

Would you quit being so condescending and smug in refering to International tournaments as "Mini Mouse" tournaments and using immature terms like "Luxemug". How old are you? You certainly act like you haven't reached your 10th birthday that's for sure.

It is worth noting the record of appearances in finals by the players from your great home country of China. Na Li has reached 6 finals in her career, winning 2 and losing 4. Jie Zheng has reached 4 finals, winning 3 and losing 1. Shuai Peng has reached 3 finals, unfortunately losing them all. And Zi Yan and Tian Tian Sun both reached one final in which they were both victorious. That leaves the great and mighty China, with the biggest population of any country in the world, with a grand total of 15 appearances in a WTA final, including 7 victories. And what do all 15 of these tournaments have in common? They are all what you refer to as "Mini Mouse" tournaments. Perhaps we should start refering to China as the "Mini Mouse" country? Or wouldn't you like that? Would that be disrespectful?

Winning any WTA tournament is an achievement worthy of some respect. But when you show no respect to others it casts a dark shadow on the amount of respect you yourself can expect. And when you ridicule these "Mini Mouse" tournaments you most certainly ridicule the achievements China has made in Women's tennis too.

1 million is ridiculous for 2 mediocre players.

At least Wickmayer won proper MM, this year Tashkent had its weakest ever draw, its normally good but this year was awful. 100K Athens had a better lineup.

Its more WTA favouring weak players and just handing out money. They should be happy to have won 4 tournaments, not given 1million dollars when they win 4 and this one. As I said 500k or probably 250k would be enough.

Winning 4 tournaments in a year is quite an achievement. Not a single player in the top 10 has managed it this year. Heck, Anna Kournikova didn't manage one tournament win in a year during her entire career.

the point of this tournament I think is to encourage up and coming players, players that are on the rise or have shown some consistency. To create some interest and familiarize people with new names that could possibly add to the interest for the WTA tour as a whole, and not just for some 4-5 top players.

You just don't get it, do you? Think how much value the publicity of Peer or Wickmayer fighting in the tournament for a million dollars would have been worth to the WTA. Frankly I suspect the WTA are probably disappointed that none of the contenders now will be eligible for the million dollar prize and that takes away one of the events biggest calling cards and one of the things that would have most effectively called attention to this event.

Publicity is worth money. Lots of money. Try to get your head around that NA-GOAT.

Oh don't you start worrying for WTA's bank accounts... they have more money than they know what to do with. I'm sure when they come up with the 1 million prize money, their accountants have already calculated their worst-case scenarios profit margin and decided it's of no concern. No big organisation is stupid enough to put up something they can't afford.

On top of that, the money doesn't even come from WTA itself!!! All these prize money are usually sponsored by some big corporate sponsors or multi-national companies with dollar notes littered around their offices. They have no bearing whatsoever on WTA's own profitability.

I certainly would not want Na-Goat banned. Yes he makes some silly threads but hey that's okay. He can say what he wants and so everyone else. Sometimes he makes himself looks a little silly but he certainly isn't hurting me or anyone else that I can see. Once in a while I'd like him to show a few of the players/tournaments a bit more respect, but that's just me. At the end of the day he can say what he wants and post what he wants as long as it isn't too abusive and I've never seen Na-Goat get genuinely abusive in his posts.

As others have said he can be quite funny at times and the fact that he makes a lot of threads (albeit sometimes with rather silly themes) is a good thing and I think we could actually do overall with more threads not less.
