French junior Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Us Open semi-finalist played his double match with Hsieh without his shoes in Osaka  and they won !

Actually these are Pierre-Hugues's new shoes and they really hurt him.

Did a WTA player play without her shoes before Pierre-Hugues ?

90% of the time I don't wear shoes. Never during practice, almost never at my club, only when the courts are too hot. I always do when in competition though.

 This is weeeird.

I hope he wears shoes in the future though, otherwise you'd have to think he's gonna get some nasty injuries.

I never play without shoes, cause it will give you chronic foot injuries. I don't think it's even allowed in maindraw matches, you can't wear boots and you are obligated to wear shoes for protection.
