Only got to see the final set where Daniela was playing well. Dont really know what happened in the first two, but she was dominating in that final set so she either raised her game or Lucie dropped hers.

Peer up next. Should be a good match, they have always played close matches before. Good luck Daniela. :D

Both, Lucie was patchy, brilliant to start then awful to lose the first set, was hitting double winners-UEs in the second set where dani was just trundling along at an even ratio, then in the third the wheels fell off and Dani stepped up.

not really surprised it went 3, dani has trouble against the big serving girls and hradecka was throwin down some bombs, i only saw the third set and i thought she played well outside of losing those two break points 4-1 up with two forehand errors, but on to the next round, all that matters.

from 2-5 to 7-5, that was great performance from Daniela ;) The second set wasn´t ideal but the third was ok and Daniela was playing her solid game. Hope she will get into final.

People really underestimate Lucie on fast surfaces. Very strong serve and ability to hit a winner in 1-2 shots is always a plus.

^^ But it wasn't...because (other than the first set until 5-2 and the second) Hradecka was simply outplayed. :bigclap:

Only saw the first 2 sets, and was thinking that Hradecka is quite good, massive serve and big groundstrokes, she got tight towards then end of the first set and let Daniela back in. suprisingly, Hradecka really dictated this match, it was either her winner or error. Daniela's serve was absolutely awesome but was pretty much the only shot that was working really well for her and that was what kept her in that first set. Daniela was really tenantive at times with her groundstrokes, struggled a bit with the pace of Hradecka shots. Still, she was hitting the ball solidly and consistently which was fairly good because it is challenging to find a rhythm against a player who only has 2 or 3 shots per rally. I thought when i stopped watching that Daniela would win the third set coz i thought that Hradecka would probably tighten and it would be hard for her to consistently make all those winners she made at the start of the first set and throughout the second.

Well done Daniela!

she never plays consistently!! I've noticed that she has a hard match full of UFE, she plays better in the next match and if she has an easy match, she plays much worse in the next match!!
