Dulgheru put up a good fight taking a 5-2 lead in the 2nd set and then 6-5, but Wickmayer has too much talent for Dulgheru, even when Yanina was clearly not in her best form.
I like watching Yanina,Sabine Lisicki,Kvitova,Klaybanova,Pav,Shvedova and Hercog more than some of the top 10 players.

Yanina is the one of reasons I look forward to a splendid season of WTA tennis in 2010.

Well Wickmayer is hardly the most likable player on the tour but she is good and she is going to get better so I think we will all have to get used to her. I got to say she does have a strong game with good power but also some nice savy too. I enjoy watching her play. Her personality might somewhat rub me the wrong way but her game definately does not.

As for Alex, I got to say I was very impressed with her. This girl can flat out play. Obviously a tough draw against a girl as inform as Wickmayer twice in a row but both times Alex has aquitted herself well. She reminds me so much of Arantxa Sanchez both in the way she plays and the spirit in which she plays. You can tell she loves a challenge and doesn't get fazed by whatever the situation. Today Yanina was just a little too good but considering she is still learning on the job this was another excellent performance and I can't wait to see Alexandra competing on the tour regularly in 2010. :)

Excellent job, Nina, winning despite the bad calls against you! She was completely dictating the match. Only foolish dudes are jumping on this bandwagon about a so called bad attitude. You may not like her if you wish but there was nothing wrong with her attitude I think. I happen to love her precisely because of her personality, she is really, really sweet. Very good job finishing it in two despite the difficult circumstances, Wicky!

She has a wonderful personality and a quality game on both ends of the court. Sometimes she becomes angry with herself, but I feel that is only normal. I love watching her play tennis. :)

What's wrong with her personality? I don't find anything about her offensive at all. She seems a very humble, likeable and down to earth person.

Well no she is not likeable (remember when she smacked that lineswoman in the face with a ball?) but you don't have to be likeable to play good tennis, which is exactly what she does. A bit too strong for Dulgheru two weeks in a row.

You've got to be kidding me. That was an accident, she did not aim at her, the ball didn't touch her face and plus it wasn't done out of frustration :help:.

I didn't get to watch this match because on the schedule it said "Not before 5:30PM" and I guess I converted the time wrong. :(

How do you know it was an accident? You don't just accidentally turn around and hit someone ten feet away from you. Either way, she hit an official with a ball travelling quite fast. Not a pleasant person.

Ivanovic, the Williams, and Alona Bondarenko all have beautiful strokes. :weirdo:

Then so has Yanina :weirdo:.

I suggest you check the Clearwater thread once more. Or the GM thread. But in a few words she hit the ball back because it was landing in the middle of the court (or because the game was over, don't remember) without looking and it accidently hit the lineswoman. She was disqualified because it is in the rules. Don't try to find any evil intentions here.

Obviously you don't know what you're talking about, she didn't turn around for one thing. But feel free to hate, you don't have to like everybody as that's simply impossible. But considering most of your posts, hate seems to be your leitmotive in life, or is it that you only dare to share your darkside in an anonym online fashion? Though I've to admit better this than starting a war ;)

in your earlier post: "remember?" :haha:

Yes, Yanina is a very good player. And yes, she is getting haters and rightly so, because her attitude is just pathetic and immature. Remember her getting defaulted at a Challenger Final against Coin. And I saw her play this year against Vesnina at Wimbledon and she behaved like a bitch. It is very hard to like her I think. :o

O, I don't know about that. The tennis player with the worst bahaviour (whoever she may be) is a saint compared to many a poster here. Every little thing a player does is blown way out of proportion by posters who don't have a problem with calling players boring, empty headed ball bashers, pushers, cheaters, bitches and so on. The hypocrisy of it all is quite amusing really. :)

I never said Cirstea was well behaved on court. In fact I somewhat agree with you, sometimes she has a bad behaviour too, but certainly not the worst. Yanina's is far worse though, at least in this match. Cause I can't say I saw many more matches of hers.

Yanina has a lot of fire in her game. It does not take her very long to heat up. Go Sharapova, Lisicki and Wickmayer.
