Justine throws her name into the hat for Brisbane.
She will try to follow Na Li and Viktoria Azarenka as champion here.
Event already features Henin, Clijsters and Ivanovic

I would love to see a second round match of Clijsters and Henin.

Watch the Jersey girl come out of Kim in the first set.

Azarenka has been the only winner here, Li won Gold Coast;)

Sounds like a good tournament, the coverage was pretty good last year. The start of Dokic's comeback

I love Pat Rafter Arena as well.:hearts:

she is more likely enter Hong Kong :pAs unpredictable as Venus is, she's quite predictable down under. She'll probably win Hong Kong again and then tumbles out in the second round at the Aus Open to a nobody.

Play Brisbane V!!! :inlove:

While I'm not a fan of Henin, I'm glad she's playing here as it really brings up the quality of the field and adds excitement to the tournament. :)

And :spit: @ NA-GOAT trying to make Li Na relevant to this topic by bringing up her winning Gold Coast, a completely different tournament held in a completely different city. :o

Brisbane is such a great event. Awesome coverage here in Australia, and an amazing stadium. Ivanovic, Dokic, Henin and Clijsters all confirmed for the WTA. Monfils, Roddick and Blake for the ATP aswell. It should be upgraded in a few years.

 Why do you post here ? Why don't you say the same thing for Serena threads (as you are a Serena fan) especially about her burst out, her suspension...

This new is tennis-related, some people wonder when and where Henin will make her first tournament comeback. I doubt these young girls will be ready if they don't improved by 2010 in a few months, because they were disappointing this year, really.

Then it's not the same tournament. The name, surface, location, type of tournament (from a WTA to a combined) all changed. The WTA site may consider it the same tournament, but it's pretty obvious that there's nothing to connect the old Gold Coast tournament and this Brisbane tournament.

From my memory they combined the Gold Coast (wemon) and Adelaide (men) touraments into a combined event in Brisbane. Physically they are not the same tournament but they are a combination of the two.

As you can surely see, Josh.'s post says that they're not the same tournament. :rolls:
Brisbane = combination of Gold Coast and Adelaide, so Brisbane ≠ Gold Coast. If you mix blue and yellow paint together, you get green paint. Green paint is not blue paint, and it is not yellow paint. They are not the same thing.

You don't move a tournament to a brand new venue in a different city, put it on a different surface, combine it with another tournament, give it a different name etc. and consider it the exact same tournament.
