Loads of players for me :D

Wickmayer - saw her play live in Nottingham. Never appreciated her physicality before seeing her in person. She’s quite an athlete, very hard working and motivated. Plus we totally made a connection, she was giving me ‘the eye’ all through that match ;) :inlove: (I’m pretty sure it was nothing to do with me standing next to her coach...)

Kleybanova - I enjoyed watching her play last year, but wouldn't have considered her a favourite. She's grown on me more and more and seems like such a nice girl. Fascinating to watch when she’s on - so unorthodox.

Kvitova - It was the Safina match... Enough said :hearts: She's got the big power game that I love. Seems so calm and composed under pressure too.

Voegele - Saw for the first time in Nottingham again. Very attractive all round game. Nothing outstanding, but veryconsistant. Good attitude throughout the matches I've seen her play as well.

Lisicki - Never really noticed her until Charleston, where I saw her play a full match for the first time. Very impressed. Nice smile and adorable reactions to big match wins (Charleston, Wimbledon run etc)

I will probably never really be a fan, but.....In the past Venus and Serena were big rivals of my faves Hingis and Capriati and although I never hated them (or any other player for that matter) they definitely belonged to the other camp so to speak. But since then my admiration for them has increased because they keep on delivering the goods year after year at a time in tennis history when careers seem to get shorter and shorter. You have to respect their longevity.

Nadal, Brad? :p

For me: Cirstea probably. Enjoyed watching her play and fight her way through to the quarters of FO. Ivanovic a bit too - but maybe that's just sympathy. :tape: I can't really figure out whether I'm a fan or not yet...

Kleybanova - I really started following her after she defeated Ivanovic at the Australian Open and I love her because she has such a great fighting spirit. She seems like a lovely person too plus she had that great doubles streak with Schiavone during the Asian swing which was great to follow.

Martinez Sanchez - I didn't find her particularly endearing in her third round match at the French Open against Serena in the arm-gate incident but she has such an unorthodox game which makes her very watchable and the tour would be better with players in the ilk of MJMS.

I've also become a fan of Vesnina, Makarova, Cirstea and Pennetta among a few others.

I quite like Niculescu, Lisicki and Wickmayer but I haven't seen them enough to call myself a fan. Maybe next year I will though.

Two players who have both been around a while but who made a big impression on me this year were Kathrin Woerle, when I saw her at Roehampton and Maria-Jose Martinez Sanchez, who I already liked quite a bit but when I saw her on TV in Rome and Bastad I was very impressed. And prior to Warsaw this year I had been eager to see Alexandra Dulgheru play, once I did she exceeded all expectations I had of her and I was won over immediately.

Honorable mentions to Begu, Scruff, Diatchenko, Silva and Sevastova, who all made postive impressions on me albeit not nearly to the extent that Woerle, Dulgheru and Martinez-Sanchez did.

I also could have become a MJMS fan had she not turned out to be a cheater.

I can forgive her for that. She just got hit in the back by a fast traveling ball. She was probably seething for a few seconds afterward, and maybe she didn't want to turn around half a minute later just to say "oh by the way, the ball hit me." I'm not saying what she did was right, but she had less than a minute to make that decision, and who knows if/for how long she regretted her decision.

Pavlyuchenkova (sp). Serve is ok and backhand and forehands are good, when she keep same on the court. Whipped Venus twice, but the way Venus is currently playing, that's not saying much. Only 19 though, and has a lot of time to get better.
