Six Feet Under Oct 17th, 2009, 12:59 PM Compare this to stanford :o .Andrew. Oct 17th, 2009, 01:11 PM Imo, it's not that bad. There should be some great matches in this tourney with players fighting for that last YEC spot. :bounce: Wiggly Oct 17th, 2009, 01:17 PM Jankovic has the toughest quarter by faaaaar. Too much tennis for her at age 28. doujyr Oct 17th, 2009, 02:17 PM A little surprised it's asstrong as it is. Go Vera, Kiri and Yanina :) vma Oct 17th, 2009, 07:24 PM I'm afraid Aga is losing in R2 if not in the opener.. KoOlMaNsEaN Oct 17th, 2009, 07:26 PM oooh Yaroslava-Jelena again LightWarrior Oct 17th, 2009, 07:46 PM They ruined this tournament. :( Totally. And they've ruined the whole Autumn European season. Linz was downgraded. You may wonder why they kept Linz, Luxembourg and Moscow, which now looks like a MM tourney. I'm sure they will downgrade that one too. adner Oct 17th, 2009, 09:05 PM I'm afraid Aga is losing in R2 if not in the opener.. She should withdraw in first round and ask Bali for a wildcard. AnomyBC Oct 17th, 2009, 10:18 PM Is Domi officially back? If so :woohoo: xan Oct 18th, 2009, 12:45 AM The problem is that the European Autumn indoor season has been gutted with the loss of WTA Champs, Zurich, and Stuttgart. There isn't enough left to attract the top players to Europe after the USO nashi Oct 18th, 2009, 03:24 AM Now is II leavl tournament It is not weak TheBoiledEgg Oct 18th, 2009, 07:46 AM The problem is that the European Autumn indoor season has been gutted with the loss of WTA Champs, Zurich, and Stuttgart. There isn't enough left to attract the top players to Europe after the USO it should be just as long as the ATP season another month of indoor tennis :bounce: Elldee Oct 18th, 2009, 09:04 AM I literally can't believe Dementieva's not playing here??? Shvedbarilescu Oct 18th, 2009, 09:39 AM Like almost everyone on this board I lament the extreme shortening (of should I just say total destruction) of the Autumn European indoor season. We should certainly be having WTA tennis right through to the end of November. Sure the WTA has to be aware of the physical demands placed on the players but I believe what does the players in isn't long seasons so much as when they have to play 5,6 or even more weeks in a row, particularly when players go on a roll for 3 or 4 consecutive weeks on the tour we often see it take it's toll afterwards. All that said, do I find the Moscow draw weak? Not at all, I love it. Of course I'm a bit biased as so many of my favourite players are here. And I'm a bit disappointed by how they were drawn too. On the other hand this tournament has some of the most mouth-watering 1st round matches we have seen in some time. Should be a fine tournament. | |
