Up until 6-0 3-1, Sammy was GOAT! Serving 9 aces or something ridiculous. 3 aces in a row to get to 3-1. A couple of second serve aces in this match as well.

Then she went into relaxed, pretty sure I have the win mode...started choking and lost the second set.

Struggled throughout the third set to hold, but did it. FINALLY! broke and served it out in style :worship:

Well Wozni, you were coming off an illness and were playing pretty badly in the first set, like real bad, but Stosur was on fire.

You could of broken to go up in the third but after that, it looked like you just collapsed. Its okay, rest up and next week's a new week. :D

Karlovic is the serve and tiebreak king. Sam's serve can let her down at times, but today it worked well for her, and she is through to final number 574783...hoping for her first win.

No disrespect intended, but this is the easiest opponent Sam will have faced in a final, and she should REALLY win it...

I actually totally agree with you about comparing Stosur to Karlovic - it is stupid and incorrect. Karlovic depends only on his godsmackingly good serve to get him to a tiebreak and then a couple of well-timed volleys to snare the set. Stosur has a great serve, but it doesn't produce as many aces on a regular basis, and she is actually much more comfortable around the baseline. She's got one thing Karlovic doesn't - powerful top-spin forehands.

I was simply pointing out 12 aces is an outstanding stat in a womens' game. And to diminish it by comparing to Petrova is not quite fair.

PLEASE don't waste this title opportunity, Sam.
