View Full Version : Now that Ai is gone, who will Daniela play doubles with?

My personal choice would be Ivanovic. i think they would be a really good team together. dani has the volley skills and Ana has the power. plus they both are Adidas players now, and both would benefit from this pairing. and it would be a very happy and pretty team as both seem to have good personalities. or maybe wozniacki. who do you all think Dani will pair with?

If I remember right she answered this question during her blog at Seoul. She basically said that she'll focus more on singles now that Ai is retired. :) And that being able to play with Ai was one of the reasons she was playing so much doubles anyway.

For sure Husarova in Australia (Janette retires after AO)
Afterwards... maybe Srebotnik or Chuang.

Kirilenko would be a great choice. Someone that knows how to volley.

LMAO at Ana I. bad choice imho.

Kirilenko perhaps. She and Maria seem to get a long well lately.

have you seen ana play doubles at all? :tape:
by far one of the worst.

My impression is that it will go the way it went for Dementiewa in doubles:

1-2 years you play full swing but as soon as the singles ranking declines, you´ll concentrate on that one

I think Vesnina is to play with Kirilenko and the one or 2 other teams you mentioned are also set

It could be fun seeing Daniela play doubles at 4-5 events with Clijsters next year, and just concentrate on those. My guess is that Kim might not play a full swing and that´s more of a bonus training for her

Dementieva shows no intention to play doubles again, sad enough

is peschke going to play with raymond again?

Srebotnik.

I think Kim will play some tournaments with Dani but also i would lke her to team up with Pennetta or Kirilenko. Caroline Woziacki can be a great doubles player...

Well when Daniela and Ana played doules, that statement was true. But currently, her (Ana) transition and net game has improved vastly. I dont see it as a bad choice.

Daniela said in slovak interview that she will not play doubles. She wants to focus on her single career.

I dont like that attitude. She is natually good at doubles and playing some doubles can not only help her singles game but also the bank balance.

I would like to see her play doubles only at the grand slams and maybe the mandatory premier events, and then see her team up with Clijsters.

I agree, all Ana needs now is her serve back :):):)

Players say all the time they'll focus on singles when their partner retires or they split up but often they play with someone "as a one time thing" and do well and play more often or they just play doubles with different people. The point is, I doubt it will happen. Hopefully she'll play with Husarova though.

Martina (Hingis) should now come back to play only doubles with Dani. They could be really successfull :)

Wozniacki is a very good singles player, but her volleys are terrible, so I don't think that she would be the best choice right now.

I read two articles stating it might be Canada's own Marie-eve Pelletier, currently ranked 68 in doubles.
