That's her explanation for the loss during the ceremony.

LOL it's all they can ever say.

They're also better doubles players btw, Huber!

Venus :haha: Love it when she says things like this.

Awww, Lizel was just stating the obvious. Poor Cara. Anyhow, Venus was hilarious with her response. Venus on point today.

It's embarrassing that the other teams can give WS more of a challenge than Bluber can.

Venus was the MVP of the ceremony today :hearts:

I love when she stepped in to defend Pirahrena today :sobbing:

Also the applause Serena got was really nice too. :yeah:

Yeah, that was nice of the crowd. I think Serena really really appreciated and needed that applause.

... and better!

This is all she really needed to say. The big and strong is great and all but if they didn't know what to do with that strength it would be nothing. There was more than strength going on in that match but it's okay Huber and Black. They got runner up.

It was so funny when she said that. This is really the first time I have seen them play (if I did before I don't remember) and I was shocked that they are #1. They are not very good.

Yeah right. I mean, they are bigger and stronger, but Serena was bigger and stronger than Justine too. Heck, I'm bigger and stronger than them both as well, but I ain't gonna beat them in any tennis matches any time soon.

They lost to a better doubles team. The best doubles team in the world, by suh a large margin it is an UTTER JOKE.

Dave.

It's true. Part of being the better team, which Serena and Venus were for this match, is being stronger so I don't see the problem.

Yeah, it wasn't the most elegant thing to say after you just got you behind kicked (by two people who are bigger and stronger, no less)

And Venus. She is just hiliarious sometimes. She graciously said that look honey, you barely got here so congrats. but then went on to nicely give them their due and the #1 doubles team. I swear, sometimes you just can't tell that she's just told you to "STFU!"

I don't know what's scarier, Serena's staredowns or Venus' verbal lashings.

Then maybe she should get stronger. Seriously... she lost because she has absolutley nothing to hurt WS with... it's not like they haven't been beaten by players who are less strong before.

i was so interested in what liezel would say after the match and she really messed it up:lol: I thought oookay that was the least respectful manner:tape:

I mean at least she tries:lol:

that was really an odd presentation!

Bluber should be glad the WS are letting them milk the doubles circuit for all its worth - go hit the gym if you want to get stronger. There is no excuse for not putting in the work and pumping the iron. 3 slams :worship: Awesome girls. Remind me where Blubers slam this year is:tape: :rolls:

Yeah I thought that was sour grapes, because it takes more than being strong to play doubles. IMO physical strength is less of a factor in doubles than singles.

bigger stronger faster served better more winners.....she was speechless yall. they got their ass whooped!

that simple. lol.

Well, Liezel called it as she saw it. It was interesting. We didn't need to hear Patrick McEnroe's swipe at women's tennis again, though. Ass.

Me either. It's a true statement.

They also are a good team, work well together, and have good variety in their doubles game at times, so it's not all power all the time.

But generally speaking they are bigger and stronger, so .

They are also a lot better :worship:
What a beatdown.
If only Serena play aggressive like this at those horrible semifinal...

Other than leaving out the "harder, better, faster" part...:p
I guess one out of four ain't too bad...

Go Venus! All the best for next year.

Linds was bigger and stronger than most players as well, why doesn't anybody say that about her?

Sep 15th, 2009, 06:12 AM
And just because of this??? Technique means nothing to her, just power???

Sore loser... Venus even complimented her, saying that they deserve to be number 1! (even though, they have 0 majors this year!) :haha: :haha:

Hmmm. True, I remember back in the day it used to irritate the hell out of me during Vee/Linds Maria/Vee matches when they'd carry on as if Venus were a 10 foot tall oak tree - never mind that Lindsay and Maria are both taller and broader than she is.

Honestly I'm amazed Huber and Black do as well as they do considering Black's serve, which at times was in the 60+mph range. Why none of the other teams can exploit that weakness is beyond me and shows just how pathetic their returns are. Sure the Willies are a good team, but they've had trouble with other pairs. But against Bluber they can pretty much break Black's serve every time.

Bluber's serves and groundstrokes are :tape: I'm too puzzled how they get away with their serves...

Just perfect match up for the sisters. With those serves, they ain't standing much of a chance.

Girl should learn to serve first instead of talking talking.

This is clearly disrespectful... how about 'more athletic and more talented' or something of that effect. Is Huber trying to make herself unpopular?

Sorry but for all the talk about Serena hardly ever giving credit to her opponents. I think Liezel did well, she still gave credit to Serena and Venus for the win.

Why should she say flat out that Serena and Venus are a better doubles team just because she lost to them? Serena's fans (some of the same ones in here critisicing Liz) excuse her for not saying that about her opponents, they say it's just the way she is. Well, same for Liz.

Plenty of people said that especially regarding her matches with Hingis.

Ok..so we won't be seeing you critisizing Serena in the future for not giving "credit" then?! Cool..

Really? I thought it was all due to good technique blah blah...but good that they said it then.

Well I don't think I critisice her for that much anyway. But in this case, Liezel did give credit to them so I don't see the problem. I just find it strange to see Serena fans, some who don't care whether or not she gives credit to Serena, trying to crisitice Liezel for not giving enough credit.

Oh no, From what I've read it seems Lindsay was just a big tall giant who hit the crap out of the ball yet Serena, Venus and Martina were the ones who played "proper, good technique" tennis and Serena and Venus were "proper" athlete. As if Lindsay wasn't even an athlete.

Ok..if you consider winning only because you're big and strong a compliment, it's cool. Makes it sound like they were playing different sport, but..whatever. Sisters won and that's all that matters.

Never mindd..
