STAGED! :tape:

On another note, I agree that Beyonce had the better video. It was more memorable. Just check out the number of youtube copycats trying their hands at some of her dance moves

Kanye is such an douchebag, Taylor won fair and square, it was her moment and he comes up an RUINS that for her. what an ass to do that to a 19 year old girl. And it's good to see that Kelly Clarkson, Katy Perry, Pink and artists of thatn caliber are on Team Taylor. Taylor rules and B. was classy enough to invite Tay onstage to finsh her speech... and she thanked Lucas.... :p

cut kanye some slack, he is hardly the first or last crazy musician out there. remember marilyn manson? NUTTY!!!

on a side note i thought these things were on tape delay now? if they really didnt want us to enjoy that, staged, and funny moment they would have cut the tape right their.

well its good to know that even though todays music videos all suck the award shows might still be worth watching or least the best clips.

relax, it totally looks fake. they do stupid shit like that on award shows to get attention all the time. IF in the unlikely event it was real, it sucks. all these shows have been on tape delay for years, so if it really was "real" they would never, should never aired it.

i know its so complicated: if it's real it sucks, if it's fake whatever. not even a 6 year old watching tom and jerry would understand the difference.

My take.
Taylor swift is not the best singer. Beyonce's video was boring tingtired of seeing all the background dancers. I actually think "Sweet dream, beautiful nightmare" was a better video.
Kane West was wrong,he ruined Taylor's first win and moment. Taylor swift actually had the better video. It was not so original but it did have a story something that people seem to forget to do anymore when it comes to video and song lyrics.
Kane West has talent but he acted like an arrogant tool, and needs his face bitch slapped. He actied like a dumbfuck!

how the fuck can you defend his behaivor? claiming he's the voice of a generation, throwing shit fits when he doesnt win awards and then going and ruining someone's moment when they win their first award of that kind. marilyn manson may have been crazy, but he NEVER pulled some of the egotistical straight out douchebag shit that kanye's pulled.

and i think the awards are on tape delay for the west coast but on the east coast they are live im pretty sure.

learn to read. i didnt say what he did (if it was real) was right, indeed i said it if was real it was wrong, and that if it was real MTV should not have made it worse by airing. if this is not some MTV stunt, kanye needs to apologize to her and mtv needs to apologize too for airing it.

learn to type. you said nothing of the sort. you started off with saying "Cut Kanye some slack..." and now you're trying to pass blame a little bit on Kanye and mostly on the MTV VMA's for airing it?! :spit: it's a live show, how are they supposed to not air it? it's kanye's fault for being a douche bag and ruining someone else's moment in the first place and that's all.

I agree with this sentiment.
Taylor Swift isn't the best female country vocalist.
I would put Kellie Pickler and Michelle Branch ahead of her when it comes to vocals.
The video was different though.
More mainstream than most country music videos.

Kanye is talented but compared to others Chicago rappers like Common and Lupe Fiasco, I really feel he lacks in depth with his rhymes.
So it's kinda funny that Taylor Swift of the hip-hop world is calling Taylor Swift out on her music video.

I like Kanye but he really went too far. what a jerk. he knew who he could pull that nonsense with though. next time he should try doing that shit to someone like Pink for instance. she will lay him out. attention-whore jerk. so innapropriate.

Lets not be a bunch of PC cowards, and use the "R word" here: race. That (just like music threads here black posters start, where they and other black posters with rare exception post only vid's of black singers and groups) Kanye was to some extent saying to Taylor:

"Fuck you white girl, I'm with the black performer."

He's a goddam bigot, whether anyone here wants to admit it or not. :spit:

(FWIW, while I listen to P!nk on occasion, I never have to either Beyonce or Taylor, and have no opinion who's better a better singer; and don't factor in dance moves either. Nothing I'm saying here is "anti-Beyonce" as she wasn't the jerk, Kanye was)

JR, what the heck are you talking about?
You think if Taylor was black and Beyonce was white, he'd have pulled a stunt that out of bounds? (If so, "I have a bridge to sell you") And I'll betcha the Prez wasn't "too displeased" that his calling Kanye a jackass got recorded and played. ;) http://www.tmz.com/2009/09/15/obama-calls-kanye-a-jackass

And re. my comment about the "basically black" music threads here, I love acts like The Supremes, The Temptations, and The Four Tops (RIP, Levi) just to name a few. I know who wrote a lot of the tunes (ala Smokey Robinson for the Temps, Holland-Dozier-Holland for The Supremes, and the late, great Laura Nyro having written Stoned Soul Picnic for The Fifth Dimension). And I even know who some of the "non-named singers" were, as with Rose Stone's great vocals in Sly's huge hit Everyday People.

So Where Is The Love by blacks here for great white singers and groups? (And for female tennis players not named Williams)

But at least he's publicly apologized 3 times and seemed very sincere in his apologies, and it wasn't like he waved the microphone at her and threatened to shove that fucking trophy down her fucking throat, so I'm willing to give him a pass.

If West were white and Swift were black, the media coverage would have had an "end of the world" tone of calamity, and all sorts of music industry bigshots would be calling for him 2B suspended from attending next year's event. Perhaps there'd even be boycotts being organized against buying his albums, etc.

Its like the news coverage of that white high school kid getting beat up on a schoolbus by 2 black kids... for moving a backpack so he could sit down after the other one refused. White perpetrator and black or other ethnicity victim = racial incident, white victim (whatever race the perpetrator is) doesn't to the media. (Nor does black perpetrator - black victim)

http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/news/stories.nsf/education/story/CC80921C46A23FA28625763300144ECA?OpenDocument

Yeah, notice how fast the cops backed off saying that race was a motive. Would they had 2 whites beaten a black on a school bus for that, with other whites cheering it on as other black kids did here? Like hell they would have, such black victim would be getting lauded as a teenage Rosa Parks. (And no, I do not condone such conduct against blacks)

Wow. Unbelievable. Can't believe the police backing off calling this a hate crime. If it's the other way around that's how it'd be labeled.

I'd move the heck out of that neighborhood. :tape:
