View Full Version : USO Wheelchair F: (1) Vergeer def. (2) Homan 6-0 6-0

378 match win streak

She is now 42-0 against her main rival Homan. The closest she came to a loss was when Homan had match point against her in the 2008 Olympic final.

I noticed yesterday that the wheelchair players completed a match on court 13.
Most of the matches were not played because of the rain.

So because these athletes are physically impaired, they can play in the rain?
Shouldn't it be the other way around?

42-0 is not a rivalry!
She is incredible though:worship:

In the words of Martina Hingis, "What rivalry? I win all the matches"

She's amazing. A real heroine to all paraplegic persons out there.

Our Dutch tennis-pride :D She's good, really good. It's actually kinda ironic that she has a 42-0 advantage over her main rival AND double bagles her now. ;) that 378 win streak is just insane! The only tennis-player who rules at what she does best: Wiping her competition all over the place. Hands down Esther, hands down :worship:

At least no foot faults here I presume, could be a good competition for Serena.

It's such a shame wheelchair tennis has very little media attention. People always go on about the dominance of the Williams sisters, Federer and Nadal - they are not even close to Vergeer. Impressive.

Sep 13th, 2009, 09:36 PM
this is so amzing :)

Sep 13th, 2009, 09:39 PM
so she won the Grand Slam this year, all four majors.
I wonder - is she that good or her rivals that bad if she wins most of her matches 6-0, 6-0...

This girl is amazing :hearts: Most dominant player ever in a sport :bounce:

A friend of mine who used to play wheelchair tennis told me
that Vergeer had a type of paralysis that allowed her to play
tennis better than most of the other paralyzed athletes. I
attended a wheelchair tennis tournament where Vergeer played,
and there did seem to be a difference in her upper body,
compared to the others.

That said, she's still awesome.
