Another great hope, But Dame laura Robson has gone back a little this year. Hope they can sort out the mental aspect of succeeding.

Well done Heather!

Hopefully some rivalry between Heather and Laura will push them both up the rankings in the big league!

I disagree that she has gone backwards - she just had a tough choke. Thankfully Heather can share the pressure - like Tim and Greg, which was much easier than it is on Murray :woohoo:

Nice! GB has waited awhile for some great female players, hopefully they have 2 that will be in the top 50 within the next year or two.

Anybody know anything about Heather's game??

Good for GB. But doesn't Buchina represent a country too? Hard to tell from this thread title.

Shes 17. She has a great game, technically sound and a great personality too - she has had to work really hard from an early age to earn a sponsorship.

she's 17
both finalists were 17
Yana shocked she made final here, she struggles to win matches in 10ks.

 Well I saw her practicing at Wimbledon (I didn't realise juniors were allowed to? Maybe because she's british) but anyway she was really aggressive, and she hit a few serves which seemed to be pretty big and I was all. But then I did hear that at wimbledon she played like a complete pusher when she lost in the second round. I guess that was just a one-off then.

We wait for a British champion at any level for so long, then two junior GS champs come within a 15 months  Well done Heather :D but I hope she's finished with juniors now

Big serve, big groundies. :inlove:

No and no

Solid is how I would describe Heather. She's never going to be a world beater and (although I hate to admit it) I doubt she will ever be top 40 - prove me wrong Heather! I beg you!

Ok, maybe I need to see more of her then. :crying2::tape:

Although hopefully she's been playing pretty aggressive this week for her to have won so easily, because I know for a fact that Dasha wouldn't just hand her the match 6-3 6-0 on a platter. But yeah I definitely need to see more of her next year. :crying2: Maybe they'll give both her and Laura WCs at Wimb.

I just read your post above after I posted. It may be a case of her training sessions not transitioning onto the court - I’ve never seen her practise so I wouldn’t know, I’ve only ever seen her in match play. We hear stories all the time about players doing everything right in the practise sessions, but when it comes to crunch time, they cannot re-produce that kind of form. If this is the case, hopefully she’ll overcome it in time, because she’s going to have to be more aggressive if she’s going to go far. I haven't seen her play this week, but your right, she probably had to play agressively to beat such players so easily. Maybe everything has fallen into place nicely :D and yeah I can't wait until next years Wimby - her and Laura should get WC's for sure! :bounce:

Great to see a GBR girl win a junior slam.

What with Heather and Laura, and the progression GBR players have made this year on tour things are looking good for women's british tennis.
