This is too bad. Nobody (except cretins) can dislike Kim. I havent' seen the match yet and probably won't watch it now.

It's a real shame that it ended like that.

Not the video I was waiting for.

I'm waiting for one with a decent side-on view of the baseline on the serve in question.

Can't see a fucking thing for sure from that angle. People can see it how they want, it's totally inconclusive.

This dumb comment sums up the logic behind about 95% of a typical KimTard's thoughts. Yawn. I don't like Kim. Believe it or not, that doesn't make me a bad person, nor does that mean that I think Kim's a bad person. She responded with an appropriate degree of WTF here, certainly.

It's unfortunate that you fail to realize that nobody is completely unlikable.

that's not a decent side-on view of the baseline, it's an angle-on view from behind the line and utterly unhelpful in determining whether it's a footfault because of the parallax and perspective.

Yes it does. You just don't realize it yet. But you will.

the only accurate perspective to view these things from is dead side-on. That's why the put the damn judges exactly straight along the line in the first place, no?

well given most people agree it was a close call, and some people seem to think it might have been a footfault on viewing that video, and other people think it wasn't, I don't see how you can be so certain.

Aaric is full of shit....no way you can say from that angle that it was a definite foot fault.

It looks like a pretty picky footfault from that angle, but no, that's not the ideal angle from which to make the call.

In addition to mentioning Lena's bangs, I do find it vaguely amusing this all took place within 24 hours of my getting my eye doctor to verify my vision to recertify as a USTA official. ;)

The only thing that is certain from the video is that if it was a foot fault, it was no way a obvious foul that would call for a lineman to get involved in a match 2 points from potential conclusion. Its clear that Serena deserved her penalty for losing it with the linesman but, honestly if that nonsensical call had happened to Roger Federer, even he might have lost it. Of course, that would NEVER have happened to Roger.

It seems to me that the linesperson saw Serena walking on the ledge and couldn't resist the urge to give her a little push over the side. How else can one explain that call? Let the player's decide the contest - that's the common sense rule of officiating. When officials don't follow it, they wind up ruining the experience for both players and the fans. What a shame!

Also, a foot fault is a "close call" on every serve, and the players are dancing on a pin every time. Serena's serve is pretty consistent, no wind to speak of, and their was nothing strange about that service motion that would indicate her doing anything out of the ordinary. Serena asked the same question I had (and Martina had from the booth) - Why is all of a sudden, she getting foot fault calls?

whether its a foot fault or not, the reaction by the 'seasoned professional' IS the issue.

Serena Williams behaviour was atrocious. There is no room for that in the game. The powers that be have to stand up to this giant in the womens game for the betterment of the sport---a fine is insufficent. She needs a ban--the extent of which I dunno.

absolute shocking behaviour that will scar her career
