View Full Version : Since when...

... did Serena become a robot who was supposed to accept everything that comes to her? Serena Williams is just as human as you and I. She has emotions, and she got angry. Has no one ever been angry before? When you're angry, you say things you don't mean. I've done it, and chances are so have all of you judging Serena. If I had received a foot fault at a vital point of a Grand Slam SF, I would've probably been just as angry as Serena was, if not angrier. When people say that Serena doesn't care about tennis, this is a perfect example to show you that she still does. If she didn't give a damn, she would've sat back and gone "Ok, I'll just double fault on the next point and get out of here!" Serena's not perfect, she doesn't HAVE to be everything everyone want her to be. So she got angry, who hasn't? So she threatened someone, who hasn't? I've threatened people. In less serious situations yes, but I've probably said worse.

Finally, anybody who actually has aspirations, ambitions and/or dedication to something might know how it feels to have something just stop you or interfere with your aspirations, and it's frustrating and upsetting. Serena wanted that slam, and the foot fault distanced her from retaining her title. She was visibly frustrated that she was just getting further and further away from the title.

Cut her some slack. If you were in her shoes, you'd all probably do the same.
