Sabine is in the draw!
I hope she is okay:scared:
She is seeded 2nd, and plays a qualifier in R1;)

wow, didnt expect that!
Hopefully she will play, if she plays, she has a good chance to win a few rounds here,
Julia Görges is 8th seeded, would be a nice QF match!

But would be already happy to see her just playing :D

I'm almost sure Sabine will NOT play Quebec City.
Even if her ankle sprain was minor, why risk it over such a small tournament?
I'm sure she committed to Quebec before getting injured.
Look for her withdraw announcement in coming days.

Michael!
Sep 12th, 2009, 11:35 PM
That wouldnt make sense,
I mean she will try it at least to play Quebec 100% sure, otherwise she would have withdrawn before they have made the draws, like every player does!
No player waits until they made draws, when it is sure that he or she wont play there!
The question is now, if she will be fit enough to play, we will see that....

Her manager said after the scans that she would be back on the tour in 3 weeks. If she will play on wednesday that will only be 2 weeks after her injury.

But maybe she doesn't have any pain in her ankle anymore.

The injury didn't look to be serious. I want to believe Sabine is feeling ok already and can put in a respectable performance. It's a good small tournament to warm up before bigger ones and a good chance to earn some ranking points.

Still no news.
Maybe she is playing Quebec? but why no twitter update?

If she does play, get ready for Sabine haters on GM.
I can just see it now - Sabine is a faker blah blah

Maybe she is still not sure if she could play in Quebec.
But she didn't withdraw before the main draw was made, so i think there is a slight chance that she could really playing here.

If she plays she would have a great chance to win her first round,
toughest players from q are Osterloh and Tatishvili, but even those two are more than beatable for her, even on a bad day!

How late can someone withdraw from a tournament?
This seems awfully late. MD has already started.
When does a withdraw become a forfeit loss?

The Boiled Egg doesn´t have Sabine playing this week in his Ranking Update

Maybe Eggy knows something we don´t know

Sabine is still off the radar to get shit like that. The worst GM trolls are too preoccupied with Serena's incident and US Open in general to notice such a minor thing like Sabine playing Mickey Mouse tourney.

I think he has just forget it. He didn't update Julia Goerges as well and she is definitely playing in Quebec.

Lisicki is OUT!
Puchkova replaces her as LL!

was acutally clear, as manager said that she needs a break of 3 weeks, but dont understand why she didnt withdraw befor draws were made, that is not normal, but it seems like she never planned to play here...

I have a sneaking suspicion that Sabine notified Quebec about her intention some time ago but Quebec tournament kept quiet because they needed big names in their draw.
So they kept Sabine's name in the draw as long as possible to make their MM tournament look somewhat respectable and sell some tickets.

Just my conspiracy theory! :D

What I thought, she really tried it, that´s why she didnt withdraw earlier..but kind of "funny" that she didnt even play a ball until yesterday, that the pain was still there is quite normal, she should try it again next week and then prepare for Tokyo.

But really a bit curious, most girls would stay at home, in this case in Florida, would hit some balls on court earlier and then decide if they can play, would have been interesting to see so, as yesterday was the first day she played tennis since her defeat against Rodionova
