The rapporteurs of Argentine tennis said that Yanina is so named because his mother is very fan of Diego Maradona and put Yanina for Diego's youngest daughter.

Not only her mother was, also her father was a fan of Maradona, yes they called her after his daughter Yanina as they really liked that name.

Yanina's a nice name. Seemed exotic to me, at first it made me think of caribean islands. :)
And if it's the equivalent of Janine in French), well, let's say, they were right to choose Yanina instead.
