Umm stupid much?

If New York can't afford a retractable roof, ain't no way in hell Los Angeles could.

Besides its not the state or city that pays for it, the USTA is looking into new materials and ways to cover the stadium, it'll take some time and money.

And no, a grand slam should not be in Los Angeles, because we all saw how horribly the attendance record was at the Year End Championships there.

Actually the YEC has been shit ever since it left NYC.

:worship: Actually the city and state would still have to kick in infrustructure costs. The did when Ashe stadium was built in the first place. All the logistics around major construction would still cost NYC several million dollars.

Well Wimbledon didn't. I was it 2007? Roger had 5 or 6 days off and Nadal played his match v. Robin Soderling over some like 4 days it may have been 3. He just played 4 straight days or something, and people were miffed.

I don't think pepole who are pushing the Carlifornian option did take the time think it through.
They are just reacting out of frustation sbouy what is happening.

Consider the 3-hour time difference.

For them to have done that they would have had to know on Wednesday afternoon that it would rain all day on Saturday. The forecast didn't predict this rain until Thursday morning, by that time it was already too late. So you are chastising U.S Open officials for not being psychic. They can't just call the players a 7am Thursday morning and say "you have a match today, please be here in an hour."

now since tuesday Kim didn't play and they probably won't play until Sunday

I know. What you say makes perfect sense and is also about being fair to the players, but some just don't even think about how things work and that you have to at least try to be fair to the players.

Complete nonsense. No - the U.S Open officials didn't need to predict the weather or be psychic - they just needed to have a sensible schedule in the first place. I'd have thought a two year old could do better. I cannot believe I have to spell this out to you and you don't understand this. There is no reason why the women's semis isn't always scheduled for the Thursday. It's more sensible holding it then than having a 2 or 3 day long boring wait between QF and SF and just a one day wait between SF and F. But if it turns out the weather is bad on the Friday - it's criminal that they scheduled it like that. It's a no win situation they've landed themselves in with this ridiculous schedule.

Same as this Super Saturday for the men is a complete farce, totally unfair and always seems to favour Federer.

So you are complaining about the way the tournament has been scheduled for over 30 years? They have had Friday semis and Saturday finals for the women for decades. You made it seem in your OP that you wanted them to change it on the fly this week. Look they aren't going to change over 30 years of tradition now, even if it isn't fair to the players and can be a logistical nightmare. To get all upset about the way things have been done at the U.S Open for a generation is like yelling at the clouds.

Yes, but I think they don't care about the players as much as they care what fans and the public think.
I was watching that IBM tracker report on Tennis Channel and you can tell how the organizers want to suck up to the crowd.
I think it's a good thing to complain about everything, it helps promote and improve the sport.

I mean, I really don't mind it personally, since I don't have the tickets and when I had them on a rainy days in 2006, that helped me watch 10 days for the price of 5, cause I kept exchanging the ticket for the following day  BUT I think it's tough on the players.
