I've never seen a wheelchair tennis match but today on ESPN they sowed highlights and in the match, one player let the ball bounce twice before she hit it.... but on another point, she hit a dropshot (and it seemed as if the point was over when the ball bounced twice). So, in wheelchair tennis, if a ball bounces twice, is it still in play?

I wonder that too. They can bounce it more than once I think, but within a certain amount of time?

yes, it's still in play after two bounces.

also, if the first bounce is in bounds, it's still considered in even if the 2nd bounce is out - ie, the first bounce is all that matters.

they also must keep one butt cheek in contact w/ the chair when hitting the ball :)

I'm nearly 100% positive that the ball can bounce twice in wheelchair tennis.

What are the physical requirements to be a wheelchair tennis player?

yes. it can bounce twice.. the 1st bounce is considered IN if it lands in a SINGLE court and the 2nd bounce in considered IN if it lands in a Double court.

Correct me if I'm wrong

a) The Two-Bounce Rule
The wheelchair tennis player is allowed two bounces of the ball. The player must return the ball before it hits the ground a third time. The second bounce can be either in or out of the court boundaries.

thanks:D

It would be interesting to see Serena play wheelchair tennis against this girl who hasn't lost since 2003

It would be a great way to promote it. I'm saying if they played an exhibition set or something. Not real competitive, just for fun.

If Serena were to sit on a wheelchair and play, I think she'll lose though

I agree it would be great way to promote wheelchair tennis, but her playing in a wheelchair even for an exhibition :help: she would barely win a point, let alone a game and that would be pointless. :tape: It would only show the general public how hard it really is to play the sport. :)

I remember Jonas Bjorkman used to try and promote it. He tried to play in a wheelchair and could hardly get anything back at all, but when he was standing and just hitting with them, it was a great idea. ;)

of course she would lose, even federer would lose aginst this girl, it requires a tremendous ammount of skill to wheel yourself chasing a balll and still produce the shots required.
